Inez Richardson -On Friday Memorial services for Mrs. Inez Richardson, formerly Stanford University's official greeter and tour conductor for visiting dignitaries, will be held Friday at 4 p.m. in Stanford Memorial Church. Mrs. Richardson, a long time member of the Hoover Institution staff and a pi oneer in Western educational radio and television, died of acute leukemia Sunday in a hospital in Rochester, N.Y.

She was 70. A native of Nebraska who was brought up in Chicago, Mrs. Richardson joined the Hoover staff in 1933 and later served as executive assistant to two directors of the institution. In 1956 she was appointed Stanford's co-ordinator of for eign visitors, a position she held until her retirement three years later. Mrs.

Richardson assisted Ray Lyman Wilbur, then Secretary of the Interior, with the first national conference on radio in education in 1930. She helped found the West ern Kamo and television Conference and served as its chairman in 1952. Mrs. Richardson is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Wayne D.

Koehler, two grandchil dren and a nephew, the Rev. William Porter, Methodist chaplain to the University of California at Berkeley. J. McManus, South City Banker John F. McManus, vice president and manager of the South San Francisco branch of the Crocker-Citizens National Bank, died yesterday at Peninsula Hospital in Burlingame after a brief illness.

He was 59. A native of County Down, Ireland, Mr. McManus came to the United States in 1925. He joined Crocker National office at Market and Jones Streets here the following year. He is survived by his wife, Nona, of 729 Park Wray, South San Francisco; a son, John; two brothers, Charles and Peter, and two sisters, Mrs.

Catherine Healey and Mrs. Margaret King. A Requiem Mass will be offered tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. at St. Veronica's Church, South San Francisco, and in terment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.

It startled travelers by riding on horses in pastures and sometimes shook up local residents by peeping into their windows. Some barns and pigpens it used to frequent were torn down recently to make room for houses. Scientists May Seed Hurricane MIAMI AP) Hurricane Betsy remained nearly sta tionary last night while scien tists debated whether to seed the storm with silver iodide in a test of man against na ture.
