Great Moments in Music. KBL Momint Overture. i KNEW Gil Haar I KVA Gene Nelson. I CAX'T VOUCH for the South as unequivocally as Mr. Connors, but I must say that the scenes between little Samson and Sinclair, the Connors role, were intensely effective when I saw them rehearsed and filmed in California back country that reportedly is quite similar to Kenya, East Africa.

My reference source is Tom Nardini who went there and was featured in the "Africa Texas Style" movie ith Hugh O'Brian. "Cowboy in Africa" is a television spin-off from the "Africa" movie. Nardini plays the same role for TV as he did for the movie: A young Navajo Indian who tags along as the hero's sidekick. What with little (Jernlil Edward as the African Negro boy, Tom Nardini as the American Navajo Indian, and scads of African wild animals, Chuck Connors is awash with helpful animal and human interest gimmicks, and he knows it. "My Navajo Indian? The teen-agers, lie will grab," Chuck advised me.

"My little 10 year old, Samson? The kids and the old folks, he will grab. The animals will grab everybody. I'll just stand by and the viewers will say, 'He's done it Chuck's statement is colorful but not factual. Chuck never "just stands by." He is a vital, vibrant part of everything that happens on his set. He easily generates and frequently conveys advice to his director, electrician, prop man or production coordinator, the latter, at the moment, being Johnny Wilson who coordinated a TV preview magazine in San Francisco lief ore it was swallowed up, years ago, by TV Guide.
