Documentary "RUSSIA TODAY," a. packaged assortment of five documentary subjects on the USSR, is at the Bridge, complete with English narration.

The package is part travelogue, with a poetic camera study of Leningrad, part dance festival and concert stage (Ulanova and David Oistrakh are highlighted in action), and part industrial display with a visit to Moscow's permanent exhibit of industry. was mailed before they left for Hawaii and Chicago. Dorothy and Jacques have received an offer from Al Zugsmith to make a picture together. He produced Dorothy's Academy Award winning "Written on the Wind." Strangely enough, the story Al wants for the newlyweds is Thomas De Quincey's "Confessions of an English Opium Eater." If it's made, it will have to be some time in the future, since Dorothy and Jacques are next doing the stage play "Once More With Feeling." THE FORMER Martha Stewart and her husband David Shelton (son of Mrs. Buddy De Sylva) are moving out here from Connecticut. Martha expects her second baby here in October; David arrives in time to attend the wedding of his daughter, Daniele, at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Beverly Hills Aug. 22. She is marrying Michael Coffeen, a schoolmate.

HARRY BRAND writes from Monticatini, Italy, that he's having a wonderful rest. We hope he'll come home soon because we miss him. OVER THE WEEKEND Roger Smith was allowed to go home from St. Vincent's Hospital, but he still won't be able to return to work for at least six weeks. DICK POWELL, by command performance, sang many of his old favorites at the Round Robin, where he was having dinner with June Allyson.

Applauding Dick were the Jim Garners, Dick Long and his wife, Linda Darnell, and Robbie Robinson. -The name Russ Colombo, noted singer in the 30's who was accidentally shot to death, may not be remembered by the present generation, but he was the Bing Crosby of his day. Now, at long last, the life story of Co-lombo will be put on as a TV spectacular in November, and later made into a motion picture. Tony Curtis was fortunate enough to buy the rights lo Russ' short but glamorous life. Russ was in love with Carole Lombard at the time of his tragic death. His mother was never told of his fatal accident, and each week received a letter supposedly from her adored son.

Maurice Duke, who bought the life story of Russ years ago from his sister, will be associated with Tony. Joe Steffano is writing the story and the TV spec will be on the Ford Star Theater. AN EFFORT is being made on the part of George Stoll to buy the film rights to "Blossom Time" as a package to star Mario Lanza. Stoll, who directed the music as well as some of the dramatic sequences in "Seven Hills of Rome" with Mario, wants the beautiful Sigmund Romberg music for Lanza, and treatment of the story by John Lee Mahin. Georgie.

as his friends call him, and John have been looking at "The House of the Three Maidens," a German picture based on the original Schubert music which is said to form the basis of "Blossom Time." THE FATHER INSTINCT is bringing Marlon Brando winging to Hollywood from New York this weekend to see his son also to work Saturday and Sunday on cutting "One-Eyed Jacks." It will be a tough routine for Marlon, who has to be back on the set of "The Fugitive Kind" with Anna Magnani and Joanne Woodward bright and early Monday morning in New York. When I talked with Joanne on my recent trip to the big town, she told me Marlon is so exhausted from his long stint on "Jacks" that he sleeps every moment he isn't in front of the cameras for "Fugitive." EVERY ONE WONDERS how Leona Gage could keep the secret so well that she's expecting the stork in three months and still display the streamlined figure she does in the new Screen Gems show "Tight Rope" with Mike Connors. Leona completed her role before she revealed that she and her dancer husband, Nick C.ovacevich, are expecting a baby in late September. Leona's a girl for surprises. Remember when she was "Miss Universe" in the Long Beach contest for 24 hours, before it was discovered that she was a married woman with a child? This immediately disqualified her and she wound up in a Las Vegas chorus line on the strength of the publicity.

Later she divorced her first husband and married Nick, I JUST RECEIVED from Dorothy Malone and Jacques Bergerac a sealed tin with a live oyster in it, guaranteed to contain at least one pearl, sent from Hong Kong.
