Barbicue Planned For Fire Chiefs Included in the program for the entertainment of visiting fire chiefs at the international convention in this city next month will be a barbecue and dance at Paradise Cove at California City in Marin county.

RYAN LIABILITY TOTAL IS GUT NEW YORK, July 24. -Counsel for the receivers of Allan A. Ryan, Wall street broker, who last Friday filed a voluntary petition in bankruptey listing liabilities totalling more than $32,000,000, reported today that there had been a great deal of duplication in the schedules and that the actual liabilities would amount to not more than 000. Secured claims, it was added, amounted to about $14,000,000. This information was given in United States District Court during argument for a stay of the sale at public auction by the Guaranty Trust Company of collateral held on loans to the brokerage firm bearing Ryan's name.

July 24. (By Universal Service.) The world war debt funding commission has been called to meet Thursday to hear Jean V. Parmentier's plea for leniency in the granted for funding of the principal and payment of interest on France's debt $3,750,000,000 to the United States. Announcement of the call was made today by Secretary of the Treasury Mellon, chairman of the commission. M.

The plan is to "boil down" the statements prepared by M. Parmentier 80 that members of the commission may have a "thumbnail" picture of the entire financial and economic situation in France. The disposition of the commission seems to be to treat the debtor government pretty liberally.

Nevada May Alter Laws on Divorce RENO, July -Nevada voters will express their views of the Nevada divorce law when two measures will appear on the ballot this year, No matter which measure is successful, the six-month residence rel quirement, which has made the divorce courts of Reno and Nevada famous, will for not which be, changed, divorces and can be secured will remain the same. The only question involved is whether a six months' interlocutory decree shall be substituted for the regulation final decree granted under present law. Through initiative petition, the measure providing for an interlocudecree found its way the ballot. The bill was introduced at last session of the legislature and was immediately rejected by practically a unanimous vote, but under the law this action on the part of the legislature is to be confirmed or disapproved by the people of the State. In an effort to make certain that the Interlocutory measure would not become the law.
