Just who this somebody was never developed, thouih it wss said tbat Mrs. Young waa the beneficiary of aome such deed. The story worried the old man, so be appealed to his nephew, and at the letter's suggestion tbe paper filed today was signed during Patton'a Inst illness, WANTED TO HE 8AH. Mrs. Young declares tbat she does not know how the report that worried the old man originated, and to-nlgbt Mr Wlllard made the same statement, with tbe further addition that bs never so mucb as suspected Mrs.

No, I do not know the value of the property; that can only be determined by an appraisement." Just wby Patton should make such a paper if he did not believe sock a deed to be in existence is nbi apparent to those wbo have known the old man during his lifetime, and it Ib freely predicted that the mysterious deed will be filed In a few davs and that there will be another properly contest in this county. Spotts says tbe returns indicate tbe reelection of T. J. Geary in the First by a decisive plurality, wltb A. Caminetti's re-election In the Second in doubt, but entirely possible. In the Fourth Judge Maguire's election seems assured; Cannon will win in the Six'h if the Democrats support him, and Olln Wellborn's election is it emc certain In the Seventh.

Mr. SpoUs also bas elaborate figures on each Senatorial and Assembly district, and these show the election of a Democratic Legislature, notwithstanding tbe Republican gerrymander. As to the stuffing of the registers, both Mr. Hammond aud Mr. Spotts agree that there has been little if any of it outside San Francisoo, and that within the metropolis the stuffing bas not bern at large as leared.

These deductions are made from tbe Immense amount of statis-tlca collected by tbe Democratic societies. From tbrse it is shown that the Increase in the vote of twenty -onesters" in San Francisco will be about 2,600. and tbat in over three-fourtbs of tbe different nationalities the increase has been normal. In 1880 the vote of the State was 161.026. In 1884 it was increase of 32,015.

In 1888 the vote was increa-eof 64:698. Tbe estimated vote this year is which would show an increase of 37 628. This Is not equal to the Inorease of 1888 by over 17,000, and is not much greater than the Increase of 1884. So the belief is expressed tbat stuffing has not been general throughout the State. The Democratic societies bave done an Immense amount of work this year, much of which will be of tbe great-Bt value in cam-paigna to come.

Tbe count of the ballots is expected to show that tbe estimates scoured are Very close to tbe mark.
