Monday, April 16, 1973 30 The Ottawa Journal Nip' Below the hill by Dave Brown FANCY THAT: Persons renewing their Ontario driver's licence are hereby warned to pay special attention to the new and simplified form, a computer card you sign and send back. with your money, but it also asks questions. On the left side of the card, it says: "Changes-Corrections Only." And under that, question three gets right down to brass tacks: "Date of Birth, Height, Sex. (If changed)." iff CAPITAL CAPKRS: There may be a few guys still trying to get somebody to believe them about why they got home late one night recently. It's a tough story for a wife to have to believe, but it's true.

Their cars wouldn't let them in It happened in front of the Talisman on Carling Avenue. People leaving late at night came back into the hotel to report they couldn't get into their cars. When they touched the door handles they got a nasty shock. A hotel employee went out and touched a door handle and agreed, it was indeed a nasty shock. An electrician was called in and after much searching discoveered construction around the hotel had broken an underground wire and the current was leaking up into the parking area.

The area was wet and current was being conducted through cars and people. It took a( while before the electrician could find the switches that ended the problem Speaking of the Talisman, that frantic construction at the east end of THE FAMILY CIRCUS Ph r5 in WELL, FRED, I FINALLY the development is a new parking garage. Parking problems now see Talisman customers parking at Westgate Shopping Centre, and the hotel operates a shuttle bus. DUMP CLUB: Last Heck we did some complaining about garbage dumps and how, now that they are known as "land fill projects," they're no fun anymore. Also, persons in charg" of dumping grounds tend to be overprotective and difficult to deal with.

It all prompted. Dick Melville, a resident of Carp, to write and brag about his membership in exclusive Huntley Township's "garbage dumpers' club" "Since I moved here I now have use of all the facilities of Rump's Pit. Now there's a place with class. First off, you don't get in without your membership sticker which has been stuck on your windshield. You get it by swearing to uphold all the rules governing dumping.

The word 'garbage' is conspicuously absent from all literature Saturday the pit is open to all members and their guests, but it's closed Sundays. It observes office-like hours through the rest of the week, and you must report to the office to clear any special items being taken in If your problems persist, perhaps, if I can find another sponsor, we can submit your name to the Hump's Pit membership committee Until then, don't let this problem get you down in the dumps." -k BANK AND SPARKS: Spring officially arrived last week when Alex Dayton returned to his place at a West-boro Kiwanis meeting after spending the winter in his Florida hideaway. Other members of the same club back from winter havens are Arch Harris and Doug Bigo-nessc Ottawa Lions will be given a short course on photocoagulation at Tuesday's GRAFFITI ill "Vi i- ABOUT SCHOOL ANO NO Oa)e WIL be rue. i. He was appointed by King Francis I in 1540 and Jacques Cartier was placed under him although Car-tier had made two voyages to Canada.
