'Babies-for-exportf scandal revealed RIO DE JANEIRO (Reuter) Some Brazilian parents who handed over children for adoption in an alleged "babies-for-eirport" smuggling operations have told police they want their babies back. The scandal was discovered by the interrogation of a Swedish widow who acted as agent for Swedish couples in 19 adoptions of Brazilian children. So far, federal police say they have uncovered more than 30 cases of babies who were "sold" or simply handed over for "export" to European foster parents.
