First prices were up 2 to 3 points. The chief buyer of March on Wednesday took in some 4,000 tons in that position on the call and a couple of thousand more shortly after that, Keceipts, 21.1H0 cases. The decline in fresh gathered eggs noted on Wednesday morning stimulated a more confident buying. Higher bids on change and a recovery of the decline Wednesday, the market closing with considerable firmness. Storage eggs are very quiet in the higher grades and values somewhat nominal.

There is a fair call for underpriced stock at a general range of 27(g30c. California while eggs have had a rather better movement, but the supply is liberal, and while some receivers were inclined to ask a little Letter price for fancy stock, no considerable trading was reported at the ranged prices. BOM California. San Franciaco California Power Projects Lead U. S. California leads every State In the Union In the development of hydro-electric power, even surpassing New York State, which has harnessed Niagara Falls, according to the annual report of the Railroad Commission made public yesterday. The report says that between $50,000,000 and $60,000,000 a year is being expended by electric utilities to meet the demands for rower and the greater part of this is for hydro projects.

As the commission's jurisdiction does not extend to publicly owned projects, the figures given cover only the undertakings of private companies. Edward D. Hand of Pan Francisco, while F. J. Blanchet of Seattle will eerve as secretary.

Supplies of cresyllcacid were held at firm prices. Recent advance in prices did not seem to affect the market to any great extent.
