THE Judge Lawlor yesterday declared his Intention of ordering a thorough Investigation Into the possibilities of the return to California of "Big Jlin" Gallagher, the principal witness In the graft eases which are still pending In his court. He Instructed District Attorney Klekei to subpena all of Gallagher's relatives In thla vicinity to appear In court Saturday morning to tell all they know about "Big Jim's" whereabouts. The effort to learn Gallapher's present domicile was Instigated by District Attorney Flckert'e request for the court to rnntlntie the Calhoun cuss until September 1st. Klckert asked for the continuance on the grounds that the appeals of Tlrev L. Ford, Thorn-well Mullally and William Abbott, officials of the United Railroads Indicted on the same charges as Calhoun, were still pending before the Supreme Court and because the Inquiry Into the return to California of Jim Gallagher had not been completed.

Judge Iawlor was not willing to put the Calhoun case over until September, but he continued It until July 2Sth, saying that In the meantime he Intended to get all the information possible concerning Gallagher's Intention of returning to this State.
