RICHMOND MAKES RECORD.

1 In repairing In five days the damage done tho Standard Oil tanker Richmond In collision with the Union Oil tanker Lyman Stewart, the Bethlehem shipyards established a new record for making extensive repairs. The Richmond came into port with her stem twisted at more than right angles, with the lower part converted by Impact of the collision into a mass of wreckage and the Inside frames and floors demolished. The repairs involved the removal of the lower part of the stem, fourteen plates and about a dozen frames. On September 4 the Richmond was placed on floating drydock No. 4 at tho Potrero yard, and by noon September 9 the vessel was back in the bay ready for sea.

BRING WEST ELDARA HERE. Arrangements have been completed to bring the steamer West Eldara, now at Honolulu, to this port for complete repairs due to her smashing on Barber's reef outside of Honolulu harbor on August 4. After being pulled off the rocks the West Eldara was towed to Honolulu, but owing to inadequate drydocking facilities only temporary repairs could be made. As the steamer is badly torn, considerable repairs will be necessary, it is stated. However, the $2,500,000 cargo of pngar and peanuts -will be retained at Honolulu, having been already docked and warehoused.

Captain J. W. Lord, master of the vessel, continues as skipper of the craft and will navigate the steamer to this harbor, while Captain Leb Curtis, representing the United States Shipping Board, will come on the steamer as a passenger. WIRELESS REPORTS. 2U.
