E1S1TIEIF SHOPPING CENTRE OFFICIALLY OPENS TOMORROW McArthur Plaza, $1,000,000 17-store shopping center serving Eastview and eastern Ottawa, will be officially opened tomorrow, Friday, at 7.00 p.m. On hand to welcome the big crowd will be TV stars. Mayor Lavergne of Eastview and other officials will declare the Flaza officially opened and six lady shoppers of the area will receive ten silver dollars each to make the .official purchases from the Plaza'a stores. The merchants of the Plaza aie offering some outstanding bargains and specials to tempt shoppers and there will be giveaways and other attractions for both old and young. Children will receive candy and balloons. McArthur Plaza will serve Eastview and the eastern Ottawa area. De Gaulle and Madame de Gaulle will be guests of the Queen and Prince Philip at Buckingham Palace, the announcement said. Exact date of the visit will be fixed later, it was stated. The official announcement said: "The Queen has Invited the president of the French republic and Mme. de Gaulle to pay a state visit to London next year. The president and Mme. de Gaulle have accepted with much pleasure. The exact date will be fixed later, when a further announcement will be made." The Queen and Philip paid a state visit to President Rene Coty in Paris in April, 1957., De Gaulle has not visited England since he returned to France on June 14, 1944, as leader of the Free French forces eight days after the D-Day landing in Normandy.
