LeClair opened the annual bazaar of Parkdale United Church which was held yesterday in the Parkdale Hall. She was introduced by Mrs.

George Earnshaw. General convener of the bazaar was Mrs. D. L. CampMarriage Solemnized At Admaston ADMASTON (Special) -Miss Kathryn Jean Briscoe became the bride Alexander Wayne Brisco recently at a marriage solemnized in Grace United Church.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Briscoe of Admaston and the groom is the son Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Brisco of Northcote.

Dr. E. C. Amaron officiated at the double-ring ceremony, The wedding music was played by Miss Doris Crozier of Northcote and the soloist was Donald Campbell of Admaston. The bride was attended by her cousin, Miss Donna Crozier, and the groom was assisted by Mack Pettigrew.

Lace And Satin For her marriage the bride wore a a gown of nylon lace and net over white satin, and a lace headdress with a short veil. She carried a white Bible topped by an orchid. Red rosebuds adorned the white streamers hanging from the Bible, A wedding dinner was served in the United Church and a reception held in Horton Community Hall. Mr. and Mrs.

Brisco will reside in Sudbury. Diocesan Board Holds Meeting In Parish Hall A meeting of the Diocesan Board of the Women's Auxillary to the Anglican Church of Canada was held recently in St. Matthias' parish hall. Mrs. J.

J. Scanlon presided and Canon Cecil Roach conducted the service. It was announced that Dominion life membership had been granted to Mrs. C. C.

Phillips of Pembroke and Diocesan life membership to Mrs. John Anderson, Eamer's Corners, Mrs. George Jenkinson, Ashton and Miss Lillian Potter, Pembroke. Tribute was paid to the late Mrs. Fred Anderson and Mrs.

Charles Saddington. The treasurer, Mrs. W. H. Swales reported receipts of $2,796.25 and disbursements of $162.01.

A special appeal was made for flood relief in India and Pakistan. Among the reports was that of the honor ring investiture at St. Bartholomew's of Ann Crabtree, Betty Short, Penny Soame and Diane Tedford, four members of the Girls' Auxiliary. Mrs. G.

H. Foy reported on the Dominion annual meeting and Mrs. R. J. Elliott on the Bishop's conference.

Farewell Party SOUTH MOUNTAIN (Special)-Mr. and Mrs. Robert McConnell were honored by friends and neighbors recently at a farewell party. The couple leave in the near future to reside in Kemptville. Mrs.

Fenton Hyndman read an appropriate address and many gifts were presented to the McConnells. George Earnshaw. Many Attend Card Party Held By CWL A successful card party was held recently by St. Augustine's subdivision of the CWL in the parish hall. Mrs. M.

E. Sims and Mrs. Walter Henderson were joint conveners. Mrs. Edward Watson, president, acted as hostess.

Refreshments were served by Mrs. C. R. Saunders assisted by Mrs. Frank Lake, Mrs.

K. S. Cameron, Mrs. G. E.

Booker, Mrs. Arthur Mead, Mrs. D. A. McDonald and Mrs.

E. G. Jamieson. A sale of homemade candy was convened by Mrs. T.

P. Mann. Drawing of the many prizes was performed by Rev. Oswald Malzer, OSA. The raffle prize, a hand-hooked rug, was won by Bob Caron and Mrs.

R. J. DuBreuil won the door prize. With Mrs. Roy At bin as convener a tea, sale of fancy work and home cooking was held recently in St.

James Parish Hall in Hull. to Mrs. Aubin were Raymond Benedict, sistantse, Mrs. George Jackson, Mrs. Thomas Larocque, Mrs.

Anne Davis, Mrs. Jack Mercier, Mrs. James Weir, Mrs. George Tanner and Mrs. Ernest Sladden.

Serving at the tables were Mrs. Kenneth Hall, Mrs. Phil Wright and Mrs. Frank Senoir. Receiving at the door were Mrs.

Morley Brant, president of the Ladies' Guild and Mrs. C. W. Earle, wife of the rector. In charge of booths were Mrs.

Herbert May, Mrs. Frank Park, Mrs. Cyril Drope, Mrs. Lesty Lefebvre, Mrs. William Pritchard, Mrs.

Clifford Thomas, Mrs. Arthur Cobiel Mrs. A. F. Bailey.

Money donations were received by Mrs. Percy Arbuckle. Inaugural Ball Dolly Madison presided at the first Inaugural Ball in Washington in 1809, when James Madison became president. Isaac Norman, pastor of Yarm Methodist Church performed the ceremony. Mrs. George Palmer of Shawville, the former Lenna Carson was bridesmaid and was present at the anniversary celebration. Mr. and Mrs.
