Mrs. Walter Mead I i wauer meaa Deaths and Funerals Funeral scheduled Floyd E. Reel GREENTOWN-Ftoyd E. Reel, 70, 403 Church Sharpsville, died at 7 pjn. Saturday in the Lee Memorial Hospital, Fort Myers, following a short illness.

Born Jan. IS, 1902, in Howard County, he was the son of Luther and Cora (Evans) Reel. On May 11, 1922, he was married to Winona Kellar. He had lived in Sharpsville and Greentown and was a member of the Masonic Lodge and AM 341, Greentown, and a member of the Scottish Rite in Indianapolis. tie was a former employe of (he Regal Canning Company, Windfall, and was retired from the Ray Brothers Canning Company, Hobos.

The widow survives. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at the Pickett Funeral Home here. M. Russell Kelley Russell Kelley, 66, died early Monday morning in the St. Joseph Memorial Hospital.

Born July 29,1906, in Kokomo, he was the son of Marion F. and Isabel Kelley. Surviving are a son, James F. Kelley, Park Forest, 111. three grandchildren and a sister, Mrs.

Florence Couch, Cincinnati. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at the Fenn Funeral Home. SHERMAN YOUNG Friends may call at the Bluitt Funeral Home from 4-9 p.m. Monday to pay respects to Sherman Young, 42, 1802 N. Leeds St.

MIAMI COUNTY DEATHS MRS. HILDA FRIES PERU--Mrs. Hilda Fries, 78, 169 W. Sixth died at 6 a.m. Monday in St.

Ann's Hospital in Michigan City. She was ill for two weeks. She was born in Peru, Aug. 9, 1894, the daughter of John and Louisa (Andrews) Rademaker. She married Alfred Fries on May 7, 1918.

He died on July 22, 1971. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. E. A. White, Michigan City and Mrs.

Wil. liam L. Redmon, Peru, R.R. a brother, T. C.

Rademaker, Peru; a sister, Mrs. Bernard Hipskind, Marion; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Eikenberry Funeral Home with the Rev.

William Grady offi- dating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-5 and from 7-9 pjn. Tuesday.

GODFROY Funeral services for Harold L. Godfroy, 59, Winfield, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the FIowers-Leedy Funeral Home, Peru, with the Rev. Timothy degg officiating. Burial will be in Mt.

Hope Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Godfrey died at 10:45 a.m. Saturday in the Duke's Memorial Hospital following injuries received at 4 a jn.

Saturday in an accident two miles north of Peru on U.S. 31. He was born Jan. 14, 1913, in Peru, the son of Mr. and Mrs.

Frank Godfrey. He was married in 1942 to Anna Mae Martie, who survives with a son, Frank. He was employed as a service technician for Sears Roebuck and Co. He moved from Peru to Winfield two years ago. Sunday in the St. Joseph Memorial Hospital. Born in Adair County, Aug. 22, he was the son of George and Nancy (Kerns) Harris. In 1931 he was married to Ollie Mann, who survives.

He had served in France with the U. S. Army during World War I. He retired from Delco Electronics Division in 1965, where he had worked for 17 years. He was a member of United Auto Workers Local Union 292.

Surviving in addition to the widow are five sisters, Mrs. Mary Gaskins and Mrs. Effie Harmon, both of Kokomo; Mrs. Mattie McQueary, Peoria, Mrs. Ann Adams, Lawrenceburg, and Mrs.

Ermon Miller, Cincinnati, Onto. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Free Union Church, Russell Springs, with the Rev. Carl Loy officiating. Burial will be in the Free Union Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Ellens Funeral Chapel here until 9 p.m. Monday. The body will then be removed to the Rippetoe Funeral Home in Russell Springs where friends may call between 3-9 pjn. Tuesday. Calling will be at the church one hour preceding the services.

Henry Kepner Henry Kepner, 72, 1305 S. Waugh died in his home at 10:20 p.m. Sunday following an extended illness. Born in Miami County, Jan. 30, 1900, he was the son of Jacob and Margaret (Devlin) Kepner.

He was a first cousin of Gen. William Kepner of Miami County, a famous pilot in the Air Corps during World War H. He retired in 1960 from Chrysler where he was employed for 23 years. He worked there in the maintenance department. He was a member of United Auto Workers Local Union 685 and a veteran of World War II.

Surviving with the widow, the former Ethel Hoover, to whom he was married in 1923, are a foster daughter, Mrs. Harley (Betty) Melton, Russiaville R. R. 1, and two foster grandsons. He was the last surviving member of his family.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Che Ellers Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Harley Melton officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home between 2-4 and 6-9 p.m.

Tuesday. Wednesday Morning Mrs. Gladys McQuinn Mead, 76, wife of Walter Mead, former city controller, died in her home at 8:10 p.m. Saturday following apparent heart attack. Born June 6, 1896, in Clinton County, die was the daughter of Edward and Minnie (Taylor) Black.

She had lived in the Forest area for many years. In 1914 she was married to Paul A. McQuinn, who preceded her in death in 1951. Then, in 1961, she was united in marriage with Walter Mead, who survives. She was a 1958 retired employe of Stellite Division, where she had worker) in the inspection department.

She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star 89. Surviving in addition to the husband are a daughter, Mrs. Marvin (Louise) Webster, and a son, P. K. McQuinn, both of Kokomo; four grandchildren; eight two stepdaughters, Mrs.

Paul (Margaret) Squires, Alexandria, and Mrs. Donald (Dorothy) Rautenkranz, North Manchester; a stepson, James Mead, Portland, 11 stepgrandchildren; eight great-stepgrandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Raines Stockberger, Forest, and Mrs. Mary Williams, Kokomo. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m.

Wednesday in the fillers Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Luke Martin officiating. Burial will be in Crown Point Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral chapel between 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Tuesday.

Break-Ins Reported At Two Laundromats TIPTON--Tipton City Police discovered break-ins at two Tipton laundromats early Monday morning. Police reported that between $85 and $100 was stolen from the Throgmartin Laundromat on Sweetland Avenue, which thieves entered by breaking glass in a door on the building's west side. The thieves also broke into a cigarette machine but did not take anything, police said. Police also reported that about $1 in change was taken from a cigarette machine at Beatty's Laundromat, Quick Wash, 542 N. Main Tipton.

Max Fridlin, 3243 Terrace Dr. Benjamin Smith Banjamm Smith, 81, 900 E. Maple died Sunday night in his home. Born Feb. 26,1891, in Guthrie, he was the son of Lee and Ella Smith.

He was a retired employe of South Side Lumber Company. He was known as Ben. A veteran of World War he was a member of the Second Baptist Church and the American Legion. hi 1971, he was married to Dovie Tyler, who survives. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m.

Wednesday in the Second Baptist Church with the Rev. L. F. Burton officiating. Burial will be in Crown Point Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Bluitt Funeral Home between 4-9 p.m, Tuesday. PERU -Miss Paula Murray, 15, Peru R.R. 5, is reported in very serious condition in Riley Hospital, Indianapolis following a car-train accident Saturday. Miss Murray suffered a basal skull fracture and other injuries in a car- train collision which occurred in Bunker Hill at the intersection of Fifth Street and the Norfolk and Western tracks. She was a passenger in a pick-up truck driven by her father, Jay Murray, 50, who complained of pain in his right side.

According to state police and the Miami County Sheriff's department, Murray was traveling east on Fifth and apparently failed to see the northbound freight train. He dove in front of it and was struck broadside in the passenger side of the vehicle. The truck was totalled and the train received $1,500 damage. Sunday. Youth Arrested On Five Charges A 17-year-old Kokomo youth was arrested by police on five separate charges Saturday night. The boy, who was arrested at the Owens Service Station, Jefferson and Philips Streets, was jailed on charges of illegal possession of alcoholic beverages, illegal consumption of alcoholic beverages, public intoxication, curfew violation and delinquency.
