(CP)--A partially filled gasoline reservoir with a capacity today burst into flames following a shattering explosion that sent pieces of metal flying in all directions and shook houses for miles around. No one was reported injured.

Impact of the initial burst was SO strong, doors on Champlain Street in Quebec City, directly across the St. Lawrence River from Levis, were blown open. A number of residents in homes near the reservoir vacated their houses hurriedly but said there was no apparent damage. The explosion occurred on the grounds of Imperial Oil Limited ot Pointe Levis.
