The fourth annual convention of the Ontario Parks Association opened a three-day session at the Kempt-ville Agricultural School this eve-' ning, when a business session was held with the president. A. T. Whitaker of Brantford presiding, assisted by R. R.

Fleming cf Guelph as secretary-treasurer. Delegates were present from Brantford. Guelph. Kitchener. London.

Port Arthur. St. Catharine's. St Thomas. Windsor and Woodstock.

The secretary-treasurer reported a good balance on hand. Interesting discussions were held on problems before parks boards and resolutions regarding these will be brought In tomorrow. The report of the nominating committee resulted in the following being elected: Honorary president. A. T.

comp. First Child Evacuees Arrive at Urockvillc BROCKVILLE. July 5. The first child evacuees to reach here from England are Raymond and Rosalee Guinibcrt Check, aged 13 and seven respectively, who arrived early today to become guests of Col. and Mrs.

J. W. Langmuir for the duration of the war. Raymond, a choir boy and Boy Scout, explained he did not have much fun on the voyage because he was busy looking after his little sister, who was "very homesick and cried a lot." The two are children of the London manager of the H. Comstock Company of Brockville.

Other recent arrivals here from England are Mrs. Kenneth Beck and two children, of Newcastle, who are with Mrs. Beck's parents. Mr. and Mrs.

Lawford Grant, and Mrs. Eliot, wife of Major W. E. C. Eliot, and four children, who are with Mrs.

C. A. Eliot of Ottawa, at Fernbank. Buckingham Service For "Fraser" Sailors BUCKINGHAM, July 5. (Special) Rev.

J. E. L. Joyce, pastor of St. Stephen's Anglican church here, announced that he will hold a memoriam service on next Sunday for all sailors who lost their lives on H.M.S.

Fraser last week. Special tribute will be paid to the late Petty Officer Earl Cameron Hicks, son of John Hicks of Buckingham. He was Buckingham's first casualty and members of Buckingham Branch No. 54 of the Canadian Legion B. E.

Soc. have been a-sked to attend. The service is at 3 p.ri. FREDERICK RISKE. EGANVILLE, July 5.

Many friends paid tribute to the memory of Frederick Riske, a resident of Eganville for the past ten years. at his funeral held Thursday afternoon. The service was con ducted at his home by Rev. J. Weir at Lyndvik.

Interment was in the. Baptist church cemetery, Sebastopol. Frederick Riske was born 78 years ago in Sebastopol. son of the late Mr. and Mrs.

Frederick Wil-liamu Riske There he farmed until 1930 when he retired and came to reside in Eganville. About 50 years ago he married Anna Rogge of Sebastopol who predeceased him four years ago. Surviving are two sons, Charles of Renfrew and Clifford of Eganville, and two daughters. Mrs. J.

A. Coleman of Montreal and Mrs. William Weckwerth of Eganville. MRS. JOSEPH NESBITT.

CHESTER V1LLE, July 6 There passed away recently at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank W. Whittikar, one of this district's oldest residents in the death of Mary White Carruthers. widow of Joseph Nesbitt of Chesterville, in her 81st year. The funeral service was conducted by Rev.

Cronmiller of Williamsburg and burial was in Maple Ridge cemetery. Left in addition to her daughter are two stepsons, J. Ward of Ottawa, and Roland H. of Annapolis, one brother, Andrew Carruthers, Chesterville, and six sisters, Mrs. Iden Merkley, Williamsburg; Mrs.

William Rae and Miss Jane Carruthers, Winchester; Mrs. Elizabeth Garrow, Miss James Froats and Miss Jessie Carruthers of Moose Jaw. JAMES E. MONTGOMERY. SOUTH MOUNTAIN.

July 6. A well known farmer of this district, James Elgin Montgomery, died recently at his residence here following a short illness. He was born near Moose Creek 80 years ago and moved to this district when a young man. He was a director of the Mountain Agricultural Society since its beginning in 1894. The funeral was held to the Anglican church, service being conducted by Rev.

O. Davies of Morrisburg and Rev. J. A. Ella-cott of Winchester.

Burial was in Brinston cemetery. He is survived by his widow and four sons, William and Eli at home, Levi and Lloyd of Brinston. and one daughter. Mrs. Jesse Mcintosh of Iroquois.

MRS. EUGENE FORGET HAWKESBURY. July 6 The funeral mass was chanted at St. Alphonse de Liguori Roman Catholic church Friday morning for Mrs. Eugene Forget and was largely attended.

Rev. Father J. R. Guindon, parish priest, chanted the mass and interment was in the parish cemetery. Born in Hawkesbury.

the former Angele Stange, Mrs. Forget was a daughter of Pierre Stange and his wife, Juliette Bruneau. She was 48 years of age. Surviving besides her husband are five sons. Philippe, Roland.

Lionel, Gerald and Raymond and three daughters, Lucille, Therese and Marie, as well as two brothers. Joseph Stange of Ottawa and Gus-tave Stange of Hawkesbury and four sisters. Mrs. Nicholas Theoret Ottawa; Mrs. George Morris.
