24 KOKOMO (Ind.) TRIBUNE Sunday, Feb. 9, 1964 Previews Today in Top shows as previewed and selected by TV Key's staff of experts who attend rehearsals, watch screenings and analyze scrips in New York and Hollywood. SUNDAY CAMERA THREE: "Colette by Others." An extremely diverting trio of writers, novelist Katherine Anne Porter of "Ship of Fools" fame, Glenway Wescott, novelist and critic, and Anita Loos, best known as the author of "Gentlemen Prefer exchange ideas and experiences on the life and work of their friend, the unique and beloved French writer. Colette. (11 a.m., Ch.

8) ISSUES AND ANSWERS: Sen. Barry Goldwater, Republican of Arizona, and announced presidential candidate, is interviewed by ABC correspondents William H. Lawrence and John Rolf son. (1:30 p.m., Ch. 13) CBS SPORTS SPECTACUjAR: A varied 90-minute outing as highlights of the world's stock outboard motorboat champions at Lake Spivey, Atlanta, and the "turf champions of 1963 and the challenge of 1964" give boat fans and racing enthusiasts a charge.

Jack Whitaker handles the motorboat commentary, and Chris Schenkel does the honors for the racing- champs md hopefuls. (2:30 p.m., Ch. 8) WINTER OLYMPICS: ABC's on the 1964 Winter Olympics from Innsbruck, Austria, today, begins with a two- hour show featuring the men's slalom, ice hockey, and men's cross-country relay events; and ends with a one-hour program at night on the special ski jump, and a review of the games over-all from the same hardy and expert crew of commentators who've covered the Olympics, day by day and event by event. (3 p.m. and 10 p.m., Ch.

13) "RETURN TO A delightful, animated hour for the youngsters. Oldtimers (over 21) who loved the oft-repeated- (on TV) "Wizard of Oz," will definitely not flip for this version because they'll miss Judy, Haley, Bolger and the beautiful Harold Arlen-Yip Harburg score. But in some areas, this modern revised story about the little girl from Kansas who goes to Oz outshines the original. For example, the 1964 witch is occasionally funny, and the freedom of animation often makes Oz more imaginative. It looks like a safe bet that, like "The- Wizard of Oz," this will be repeated for many seasons to come.

(5 p.m., Ch. 6-- color) 20TH CENTURY: "The Songs of Harold Arlen." One of the most striking things about this hour devoted to Harold Arlen, is the definitive proof that Lena Home's artistry and even her beauty have greatly increased in the past 20 years. Other treats include another chance to. hear little Judy Garland sing "Over the Rainbow," and a first chance to see Al Jolson and George Gershwin cavorting poolside'' at Aden's California pad in the splashy thirties. The several million amateur songwriters in the U.S.

will be a little unnerved by Arlen's description of how quickly some of his now- standard pop songs were created. (6 p.m., Ch. 8) MY FAVORITE MARTIAN: This one may be too cute for grownups, but the youngsters' favorite stunt, the Martian's levitation act, gets a good workout tonight. Chairs whirl about, tools move through the air, and the Martian loses his learned memory. (7:30 p.m., Ch.

8) ED SULLIVAN: This is a really "big shew." Those be- mopped British Beatles sing four of their personally penned hits-- "I Want To Hold Your Hand," "She Loves You," "All My Loving" and "I Saw Her Standing There." English, musical comedy performer Tessie O'Shea does a medley of songs like "Two-Ton Georgia Brown of "Oliver" sings one of her best "As Long as He Needs Me," and a stagefu' of children and other members of her cast do a- song in chorus Also, novelties like tumblers and the comedy team of Mitzi McCall and Charlie. Brill round out the hour. (8 p.m., Ch. 8) JUDY GARLAND: No guest stars for once-- just Judy-- and she sings and sings and sings. There are World War I 'numbers, Garland specials like "Rockabye Your Baby" and "Liza," and including "The Whole World in His Hands." Garland fans will be happy and satisfied with her solo effort.

(9 p.m., Ch. 8) NBC WHITE PAPER: "Cu- TV-Radio i ba-- Hie Missile An exciting real-life melodrama where the may have been the survival of the Western world, and in which we follow the actions of the good guys on a minute-to-minute basis sometimes. In retrospect, there are some especially chilling sequences including one of a jovial Gromyko falsely telling President Kennedy the Russian missiles in Cuba were only defensive; and a reminder that if the Cuban missiles had been allowed to become operative, no U.S. city would have been more than three minutes away from destruction depending perhaps on Fidel's whims. This report on the responsible and successful use of American power concludes with a sober wrap-up from narrator Chet Huntley reminding us that there will be no cheap political victories in years to come.

(10 p.m., Ch. 6) MONDAY THE LUCY SHOW: Amateur night for a Boy Scout benefit, with simple sets per-' formed by pros. Ethel Merman barks a few orders and sings a bit, but Lucy and Viv dominate the-show. It's a pleasing affair watching the grownups hop about the stage, and the show has a nice amateur touch. (11:30 p.m., Ch.

8) HOLLYWOOD A STARS: "The Great Lovers." We've had the glamor dolls on 'he series and now--for the benefit of the women here are glimpses of the lover boys, past and present. It's not a very inspired presentation, but fans may enjoy observing the chang- ng techniques in movie lovemaking that didn't even become a vital part of screen stories until Valentine. Many of the clips look like leftovers from past shows in this series, but crap up in every chronicle of Hollywood's history. (9:30 p.m., Ch. 6) SING ALONG WITH MITCH: George Burns really doesn't have to be coaxed into joining a singing session, anywhere, so don't be surprised if fie bursts into song with Mitch's gang tonight.

He's at his proverbial jest in "Where Did You Get That "Grizzly Bear" and in a duet with with Leslie Ug- gams to "I Ain't Got Nobody." p.m., Ch. 6 color) BREAKING POINT: "No Squares in My Family Circle." A thoughtful drama with a very, fine performance by Jack Warden as an Italian baker suffering from a guilt complex, that goes back to his early days as an immigrant affiliated with gangsters. The supporting cast is better than average and the direction adds to the tension of the drama. (10 p.m., Ch. TONIGHT: Keenan comic Woody Allen, jazz musician Sy Zenlner, and singers Don Stewart and newcomer Louise Lasser, join the Carson panel.

(11:30 p.m., Ch. 6-color) WINTER OLYMPICS: ABC's dedicated on-location camera crew and sportscasting pros are all on hand for the closing ceremonies of the 1964 Winter Olympic Games in Innsbruck, Austria, which they've been following hour by hour (11:15 p.m., Ch. 13) Hutcheson Not To Be Prosecuted Further in Scandals INDIANAPOLIS (AP)-- President Maurice Hutcheson of the Carpenters Union will not be prosecuted further in the Indiana highway scandals. Prosecutor Noble Pearcy said Friday he has no new evidence with which to continue the bribery case against The Indiana Supreme Court ruled there was insufficient evidence for his conviction in the original- case and granted a new trial. Hutcheson was charged with conspiracy to commit a felony (bribery) in connection with an alleged profit of almost $80,000 on lands to be used for highways in Lake and Wayne counties.

'Negligence' Listed As Cause Of Train Wreck BUENOS AIRES (AP) An Argentine State Railways spokesman said Friday that "grave negligence" by two signalmen caused the headon crash of a crowded passenger train and a standing freight train that resulted in 13 known dead. The crash occurred last Saturday near Altamirano.
