BOARD NAMES CHAIRMAN FOR SALVAGE DRIVE FREMONT, Sept. 1 (Spl.) Harry S. (Hap) Bowlus, Fremont trucking firm head, has been named city chairman for a salvage drive which will get underway in Sandusky-co immediately. The appointment was made by the county civilian defense executive committee which waited several months for Mayor Amer L. Wrigley to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Thomas McGahan.

An extensive program is to be launched to enable the county to "catch up" in its endeavors as, according to the committee, little organized effort has been made the past three months and the county is lagging behind others in the state. The county has been criticized by the WPB' for its "lack of effort." Tentative plans call for an intensive collection drive on Oct. 7, 10-moth anniversary of Pearl Harbor.
