Kirby Cawlhrav Hope 99 Donaldson 92 To Hour Hie- Kcfcult. Shortly after five o'clock an immense crowd jratheied iu and about The lTUKM ftfice in the anticipation that this journal would receive the returns at the earliest possible moment. The people made no mistake, as the arrangement made for securing the returns could not have been surpassed, and soon after six o'clock the results of all the oontesta were announced. The "extra" containing the details was eagerly read, and the official returns secured later wed no change affecting the result, except in slightly varying some of the majorities. The Mayor, like his constituents, had come to Thk Citizem orhee for the news, and when the result began to be known he was nrged by the asaemblage to speak.

In lesp inse Mayor Krratt spoke a few words, cordially thanking the electors for the support, and saying that his msjiritsf3roved that intelligent people required that a candidate should have a distinct platform to have any chance of success in offering fur election. IN bY WARD. At Aid. Farrell's committee rooms on Clarence street a large crowd gathered about six o'clock, and the worthy alderman wa the recipient of many congratulation, not only on his being elected, but flu heading the poll. O'l. Munay followed with a happy speech, aud he was well received. Three cheer were then given for the successful candidates, and the gathering dis persed. In Ottawa The result of the election for Councillors in the newly-incorporated Village of Ottawa Fast, recently Archville, was not quite what was expected. Mr.
