The last report from Munich as to tlte progress ef cholera refers to the orticial accounts of the destruction committed when that city was visited by this icOurge in 1854. There were than X0) inhabitants, ami 5,238 cases were registered in the first 48 daye, 2.432 having proved fatal. Tbia year, up to the fiftieth day of the attack, and with 170,000 persons in the city, there were but 198 cases, ot which 63, not quite a third, ended fatally. Large villages, being left in worse sanitary condition than towns, suffer taore severely than the latter, it is reported from oue village, Schonthsl, in East Prussia, that out of a total, population of about BOO persons, nine died on a. single dy last Saturday week.

From Hilesia there are other very bad accounts a village 'or 5(1) souls, uausse, near Maltsch, having lost already nearly 1 person in 10; while in Us-licia the cholera has taken the form of an actual pestilence of the direst type. In one county it Is stated that there are several villages in which every house has more or less suffered A Fish Story. They have wonderful weather in Milwaukee. Last winter the snow was deeper and the cold colder than in any other place in the country. We can't remember half of' the wonderful things that were told ot the remarkable freaks tbat nature played during the cold wc ather.

Milwaukee certainly took the palm for extreme cold. But, not satisfied with that, and moved by an all-da voni ing ambition to add freeh laurels to her violonous wreath, she is bidding now for the championship of the heated term, and puts forward ber claim in the shape of thermometers that denote 100 degrees in the shade. The Milwaukee Wuconnin states that this excessive heat lasted for tirty.six hours, commencing on the 21st insl. he leaves were wilted and the trees rendered sapless How the Milwaukee brain stood it we do not leant. But the most astonishing result of these two days of heat was tbat produced upon the fish in the harbor.

Maay of these were compelled to come to the surface, and subsequently to the shore, and, according to reliable authority, the edge of the lake for quite a distance along the Hats, was strewn with the -bodies ot those fish actually baked by the heat of the sun. We have all heard of living pickled salmon swimming about in their native element ot vinegar, fennel and pepper, but they pale their ineffectual fires before Ash baked ia the water by the heat ot the sun.
