MISS DOROTHY HAMBLY WEDS DR. T. M. STEELE Marriage is Solemnized in Chalmers Church Vestry The marriage was solemnized last night by Rev. Dr.

J. W. Woodside in the vestry of Chalmers' United Church of Dorothy Stewart, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Fisher Hambly, and Dr.

Thomas Murray Steele, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Steele, of Stratford, Ont. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father and was tended, was charming in a becoming gown of rosewood georgette, with beige lace trimming, the skirt finely pleated, and she wore a shower knot of Ohpelia roses and lily of the valley. A dark brown felt hat trimmed with touches of rosewood and gold, and a coat of rosewood shade trimmed with beaver, completed her smart travelling costume.

Immediately following the ceremony, the bride and groom left for Toronto, and will take up residence at LeRoy, N.Y. They were the recipients of many lovely gifts. Jack Arscott, also of Timmins. Miss Smith was prettily dressed in rose crepe romaine in pleated effect. The room was decorated in white. with yellow flowers and ferns. After the ceremony dinner was served to the immediate relatives of the young couple.

Maxwell Betts wedding of interest to many in Ottawa and Western Ontario took place on Saturday, August 25, at 1 p.m., when Dorothy Margaret Betts, youngest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.

Cameron, registrar of the Supreme Court of Canada, and Cameron, are absent in the west, visiting Regina and later Victoria and Vancouver. Mrs. Philip Toller and her children have returned to Ottawa after spending the summer months at their home in Muskoka. Miss Helen Coutlee, who was visiting Mrs. Herbert Robinson in Kingston for a fortnight, has returned home.

The Misses Helen and Dorothy Cowie have returned home from an extended trip abroad having visited several places in Europe and also in England and Scotland. They were accompanied Miss Constance Leishman, of Edinburgh, who will be their guest for a time. Mrs. J. H.

Bartlett, of Anchorage, Kentucky, and her children, Miss Katherine Bartlett and Mr. Bartlett Bartlett, are coming to Ottawa by motor this week and will spend' a few days at the Chateau Laurier. They will return shortly after leaving Mr. Bartlett Bartlett at Ashbury College. Mrs.

Stella Freeland was hostess at a nicely arranged China shower at her home in Cobden in honor of Miss Muriel McBride, one of this week's brides, on Friday of last week.
