The College and Y.M.C.A. teams are now leading the league, and each club has won Uwo without a defeat. Tomorrow they will clash at four o'clock, and either one of the two teams will be relegated to second place. It ought to be a battle royal, as it may mean the loss or winning of the championship. In fact.

None of the clubs made objections to the switching of the dates, as the receipts are pooled and the clubs share equally, after expenses have been paid at the end of each season.

No further changes will be necessary. Tomorrow's procram Is probably the finest that will be offnred all season, and unless the weather man brinRS forth his spitter and puts something moist thereon a bumper crowd will undoubtedly journey up to 'Varsity Oval to take In the excitement. The Pastime and National teams play at 2.30. and as both have been practicing hard the same ought to be a hummer, with the loud pedal on the "hum." The Pastimes are out to down the Nationals, and thus get back into the championship race with College and while the Nationals, who have not yet succeeded in taking a game, are determined to break into the win column at the expense of the West End club. Duplicating the Brentford team performance on the opening day. the Ottawa Baseball Club came from behind in the seventh of this afternoon's game in the 'Canadian League, and defeated the Red Sox by a score of 11 to 4. Clever patching by Joe Lill, the right hander, whom- vne champions picked up at Fort Wayne; Shauhneasy's general-, ship ii pinches and heavy gunning: by the big sluggers of the Ottawa team, i turned defeat into a victory Just when the Telephone City fans were prepar- lug to sit hack and enjoy their second straight win at the expense of the Capitals. Brantford scored one run off Lill in Lthe first, another in the second, and a third in the fifth. Until the latter half itif the seventh they appeared sure win-1 ners, as Donovan was pitching good ball, and though I.

Ill was outclassing him, the "breaks" seemed to be favoring the home team. Then, like a i thunderclap, Ottawa opened out and I scored enough to make the outcome I iSafe. This is the sad story of the sensational seventh: With two men, Dolan and Robertson, out, it looked all off with Ottawa. Shaughnessy knit his brows. His 'Hsmlle came back for the first time when Catcher Lage hit a terrific liner to center, which Diem grot under, but finally fumbled.

Shaughnessy here 1 showed his generalship. Tully, the new Ottawa shortstop, who hails from Jteading. was taken out, and "Lefty" Rogers, who had been warming- the bench, sent in to hit for him. Then the explosion took place. Donovan teared and his nervousness caused him to hit the Ottawa man.

Pitcher Lill, whose grand work show-d him to be a comer, stepped In to the Tsreach and laced out a double, which t.f scored Lage and placed itogers on third. Wih two runs needed to tie the score, Kelly Harris, the fast second baseman of the Ottawa outfit, leaned .7. Against one of Donovan's slants and irove it to rleht field, carrying both Who Owns City Lacrosse Funds? Pringle and Benedict Leave. Another meeting of the City Lacrosse League has been called for this evening at the Grand Union Hotel, when organization will be completed, it is necessary that the league should get down to business in earnest this evening, as the season Is fast approaching, and the clubs will have to make arrangements for their dates at once. It is now settled that the Shamrocks, Stars and Nationals will be represented.

Mr. George Pouliotte states definitely that the Nationals will be in the field, and it is probable taat he himself will be honored with the presidency of the City League. The C. A. C.

bojs have gone in for baseball, and will not mix in with the lacrosse magnates for this year at least. In the event of the Nationals doing the unexpected and deciding not to enter, the Maple Leafs will take up the franchise, which has been kept, for the French-Canadians. At present there is a dispute between the Shamrocks and Stars as to the disposition of last year's funds and the Cbabot trophy, presented bv Dr. J. L.

Chabot. P. The Stars and Shamrocks were tied for the championship, but Stars arc said to have defaulted two games, and Shamrocks claimed the honors and the Chabot cup. which was over for the Collegians, while Keith Vogan will ''ljr spangles for the "Ys" with Len Purvis as relief heaver. The "Y's" think they can step the Collegians 011 the bases, as In Smith they have a game little catcher with a wonderful wing.

If they block College 011 the runways, it will mean a great game, as both are heavy hitting teams. There is quite a lot of speculation on the outcome of the Collcge-yjlC match, with Manager Jim O'Briens' wrecking crew on the big end. City Ball League is popular, and it is expected that attendance records will go when the College nnd Y.M.C.A. forces face one another Saturday afternoon. Billy Hull and Emile Tur-cotte will probably officiate.

Both have done excellent work to date. Ladles will be admitted free. The diamond has been cut and massaged in preparation for the big game, and the scores from Canadian League matches will be announced at the Oval. presented for annual competition. Stars refuse to hand over the silverware, and Shamrocks wish to take the entrance fees, now in the hands of the treasurer.

It is proposed to settle the dispute by having the two teams play a pre-season series, two games, with the first on Victoria Day. This suggestion will be made at tonight meeting. A series between Stars and Shamrocks would send the season away to a fine start. Everything will be definitely settled at tonight's gathering at tlie Grand Union. Clubs not represented will be dropped from tho n'embership role.

Another meeting of the eastern ec-tion of the Ontario Lacrosse Association will be held next week for the purpose of revising the schedule. The Glebes start practice on Monday, but there Is still good deal of uncertainty about their schedule. They will play some of their games at Lansdowue Park and others at 'Varsity Oval. Charlie Querrle announces that Fred Graydon will be missing from the Te-cumseh team this summer. Graydon wants too much money.

Dolly Durkin will be In the game again, and Querrle is trying hard to land "Sport" Murton. Mark Cummlngs. of Cornwall, will likely play with George Kennedy's Irish-Canadian team. Bobby Pringle left for the West early this morning, accompanied by Clint Benedict. Both will figure on Con Jones' Vancouver team.

Pringle is one of the greatest defence men in the game, and is certain to make goffii with Con Jones' team. Benedict should have little opposition for the goal position on the form he showed with Capitals last summer. head throughout, and finally managed to win his share of the J2.000 purse which Promoter Kennedy had offered. The main bout tonight will start at nine o'clock. Before the appearance of Zbyszko there will be a preliminary and a musical concert by the band of the Governor-General's Foot Guards.

The big Pole has never appeared in Ottawa, and on this account thre will be a big turn-out to greet htm. The sale of seats opened yesterday at the Hldeau Pink, and will continue all day. There has been no advance in prices. Zbyszko has been keeping a silent tongue concerning the plans for his matches against Frank Gotch and Constant Le Marin, but it is probable he will make some kind of an announcement this evening. It Is proposed to hook him up with Le Marin once more and to bar the toe hold.

Zbyszko refuses to agree to a bout under these rules, but the offer of a J20.000 purse by the Globe Athletic Club may Induce him to change his mind. Le Marin may challenge him after tonight's bout and force him into another battle. Montreal promoters have also put up a big guarantee for a match between Le Marin and Zbyszko. When the judges disqualified Eye Opener and I Wonder, Miss Viau's entry, in the harness tandem class, it took the interest out of what promised to be the keenest competition of the evening performance. In this event six tandems, two of which were from the stable of Mrs.

H. Vincent Meredith, were shown. After the tandems had been driven around the ring several times the judges asked Mr. Yeager. who was driving the iau entry, to drive them on the floor so that they could be measured.

This caused some surprise as these horses have been shown in this class on many occasions. When the measurements were taken it was announced that I Wonder was a quarter of an inch taller than the conditions call for, which made him ineligible to compete so that the horses were sent out of the ring. The class was eventually won by Going Some and So Am 1, owned by N. Bates, of Ottawa, the Allison Stock Farm pair, driven by Halton H. Learmont, being second, and Tissington Glitter and Royalist were third.
