THE SANDUSKY Oci. 28. 1944 Club Activities Society Events of City and Vicinity Personal Mention Air Of General Spookiness At Harlequin Studio For Annual Halloween Party Fortune-telling, apple eating, charades and a general spookiness pervaded the Harlequins studio during the masquerade party held by that dramatic organization last evening. Miss Mary Louise Thierry was the gazer into the future, Dr. L.

F. Meyer won the apple-eating while Mrs. Curl Miller and Dr. Walter Panning proved their accuracy at spelling games. Those noted for their acting ability during charades were Dr.

Walter Panning, Jack Mayer, Dr. L. F. Meyer, Mrs. Walter Panning, Mrs.

J. L. Sampson, Miss Virginia Smith and Mrs. Carl Miller. Members most originally costumed included Miss Lillian Ziegfield, Jack Mayer and Al Townsend.

General chairman for the activities of the evening was Miss Dorothy LaLond. She was assisted by the Misses Marilyn Palmer, Mary Ackerman, Pat Reck inger, Margaret Geigel and Jean Duignan. Mrs. Jack Mayer had charge of the program. Goblin Glamor Guests Come For Golden Wedding When Mr.

Ervin Hartenfeld and Mrs. Edmund Klepper were appointed delegates to the National Convention of Navy Wives Clubs of America, to be held at the Secor Hotel in Toledo, Nov. 14, 15, and 16, when the Bluejackets Wives, Chapter 69 met Tuesday evening. After the business meeting, the members made scrapbooks for the naval hospitals after which they enjoyed a party. Tall candles stood on either side of the centerpiece, a decorated cake.

At the next meeting, Nov. 14, installation of officers will take place. A double celebration honoring the homecoming of Pvt. Franklin Hopton, a former Sandusky resident, now of Euclid, and the birthday anniversary of his aunt. Mrs.

James Hornbeck of Sandusky, was held Sunday at the country home of Mr. and Mrs. William Delius, Milan-rd. Pvt. Hopton is stationed at Los Angeles, where he is attending Military Intelligence School.

He is home on a 21-day furlough. A dinner was served at 2 JUD, on tables decorated with fall flowers. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. George Cogbill, Mrs.

at I. O. F. hall. Both an inspection and initiation will take place at this time.

Halloween Pariy To Follow Meeting Friday The annual Halloween party will follow the regular meeting of Reeves Review, Wo. 9, Women's Benefit association, Friday in the Knights of St. John's club rooms.

A potluck supper is planned for 6 o'clock which will be in charge of the October, supper committee. At 7:45 the regular business meeting will be held. Halloween games and contests are being arranged for the eve ning hours. Salt is used in the treatment of steel to produce a hard surface. TK.C.Club Sends Gifts To Soldiers Gifts have been sent to boys in service, both in the United States and overseas, it was announced at the meeting of the T.K.C.

club held Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Emily Heinzer, 803 W. Jef- ferson-st. The meeting opened with a one o'clock luncheon. Plans were discussed for the annual Thanksgiving day dinner.

The next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Harry Storrs, Berlin Heights-rd, Huron, Nov. 29. 90th Birthday To Be Celebrated Isaac A. Hoyt of Castalia, will celebrate his 90th birthday anniversary, Sunday, Oct.

29, and in honor of the occasion open house for relatives and friends will be held at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Jerome Norton, S. Columbus- av from 2 to 5 in the afternoon. A son Hartwell Hoyt resides at Castalia and a granddaughter. Mrs.

Warren Jensen resides at Brawley, Cal. Mr. Hoyt was born and raised in the T.N.T. area where he spent most of his life. He was one of the first residents to evacuate his home under government order so that the ammunition plant could 'be built.

Miss Barry, well known throughout Ohio is an authority on home decoration and lighting.

She is employed by the Ohio Public Service company and frequently speaks before civic groups. Her topic Friday will be "Your Home of Tomorrow." She will discuss new furnishings for the home of tomorrow as well as the new lighting developments for kitchen, laundry, etc. She will also show how older homes can be modernized to meet the new standards. Her talk will be illustrated with colored slides. Refreshments will be served at the close of the lecture.
