Charlie Ralph Kelley 11 i Raymond CONTINUED I ram PACE 1 Tornado car lot not far from the Selma Mall, which escaped unscathed. Raymond Morris, a truck driver from Dothan, said he was driving his rig on the Selma Bypass near the car dealership when the "weather started getting rough." Morris said he parked the truck just before the twister struck. "I just sat there and hung on," Morris said, as the truck started turning over, "I was thinking about my tail getting blown away and the good Lord." Morris' truck landed upside down in a ditch on the side of the road. He received six stitches in his forehead. Phillip Higginbotham said the tornado destroyed his mobile home moments after he heard "a deathly silence." "It was real noisy and loud and all of a sudden, we couldn't hear anything," Higginbotham said.

"I told my wife to get down and it hit right then." Higginbotham said he jumped on top of his wife and 5-year-old son the moment the twister struck the trailer, pushing it about 30 yards off its foundation and onto one side. He walked amid the rubble shortly before daylight today, his left arm in a sling, trying to salvage what he could. Power lines and trees were downed and city crews worked to restore order this morning, particu- 1 VYV Charlie Ralph Kelley, 77, died Sunday in Baptist Medical Center of emphysema.
