They were great, but probably too strong for Jesse Helms or the people in Peoria.

Some time ago. I read that they were going to revive it on another channel. Have you heard anything lately? Lodi, N.J. The original series based on Armis-tead Maupin's stories of life in San Francisco did stir a lot of controversy for PBS. But more tales are coming, this time on Showtime pay-TV.

A six-part series titled "More Tales of the City" is being made. I really miss Robert Stack's "Unsolved Mysteries." Why did they ax it? Ft. Lee, N.J. NBC got tired of it and canceled the show. But CBS wants it and it should be back on at mid-season, with Stack narrating as usual.

What happened to that unique TV series, "American With such a talented cast, I was extremely disappointed to find it had vanished without a trace. Clemson, S.C. CBS had it for the 1995-1996 season, then failed to renew it. I suspect it wasn't simple enough for the audience CBS seems to have cultivated. 4 p.m.
