Patterson announced yesterday that a public hearing will be held Nov. 16 on proposed slashes in Queens bus service but ignored pleas for a similar hearing on plans for even more drastic cuts in Brooklyn bus service.

It was Patterson's first official move since returning from a European vacation. The TA wants to eliminate two Queens bus routes, slash service on six others and extend two other lines. In Brooklyn, service on 40 lines was due to be cut as of Wednesday but this move has been postponed pending the completion of a new survey. Cashmore Makes Demand After the announcement of the proposed Brooklyn slashes, Borough President Cashmore and the Board of Estimate demanded the TA hold public hearings. -The TA claims it is not required to hold public hearings when it wants to change bus schedules and routes.

Hearings are required, however, before operation on any line can be discontinued. This requirement prompted the TA to call a hearing on the Queens bus service changes which include the elimination of two routes for 10:30 A. M. Nov. 16 in the TA's headquarters, 370 Jay St.

Would Drop 2 Lines The two lines the TA wants to drop are the 30 Fresh Meadows-188th St. run and the 31A Bay-side-Queens Village route. An extension of service is slated for the Q27 Flushing-Rosewood and the 44B Malba Gardens lines. A decrease in the number of non-rush hour buses' is in the works for the following bus routes: 3A, Jamaica-114th Laurelton Shuttle; Q15, Flushing-Beechhurst; 16, Flushing-Bayside 17-20, College Point-Jamaica; and Q26, Flushing-Queens Village. Films, Lectures -On Cancer Listed Two doctors will show movies and lecture on the latest techniques in cancer treatment Wednesday at a meeting of the Queens County Grand Jurors' Association in the Queens Medical Society Building, Forest Hills.

They are Dr. Philip A. Zoller, surgeon-in-chief of Wyckoff Heights, Brooklyn, and Dr. Henry I. Fineberg, medical superintendent of the Queens Hospital Center.
