Balsam Heads I Israel Festival Magistrate Balsam of Ozone Park will be chairman of the Israel Music Festival to be held March 10 at Forest Hills HS, it was announced by the Long Island Committe for Bar-Ilan University of Israel. LIRRAslis End Of a Station The Long Island Rail Road has petitioned the Public Service Commission for a green light to go ahead with plans to tear down the Locust Manor station near the Jamaica Race Track if racing is transferred from the Jamaica track to a proposed "super-racetrack" at Belmont Park. The LIRR told Examiner Harold Weber that the station would become a "ghost station" if the race crowds stopped using it. The railroad presented statistics showing that only 80 commuters use the station during a regular weekday. The number drops to about 330 during a non-racing Saturday.

For passengers who usb the station daily, the line suggested the Higbie Ave. Station as a substitute. It is, however, almost a mile away. School Site Contract Let The Malveme Board of Education has awarded a $64,600 contract to the Davis Construction of Hicksville to grade the Bite of its new senior high school. The new school will be situated across Ocean Ave from the pres ent school, which will be converted to a unior high.
