Elizabeth Paucett, president of the Ex-Association, of Cowgirls of Hordln-Simmons university is calling a meeting of members lor today, to make plans for the annual commencement homecoming of the association. Today's meeting will be held at .2:30 o'clock at the home of Genelle Jennings, 644 Hickory street. Members of the Eleanor Roosevelt Study club will entertain their husbands at dinner at 7 o'clock Staurday evening at the Woman's club. Members are asked to call 5081 by Thursday night for reservations. Meeting of the Abilene Garden club has been, scheduled at 9:30 o'clock Thursday morning at the YWCA building.

Burns. HIS Sunday, being the occasion of National Mother's Day, brings a number of out-of-town visitors here and sends an equal number away to near-by points for brief visits. The social calendar for the day Is not marked by any events of particular importance, but will be filled by the many small gatherings of the family groups. Summer brides will soon move into the center of social interest as graduate, parties recede, but today is devoted to Mother. Leaving Abilene cany this morn- I ing, Mrs.

George L. Paxton will drive to Austin to have Mother's Day dinner in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Dan Moody, and Mr. Moody. She is a member of a party driving from Abilene to Shreveport to attend the Southern Baptist convention, opening Tuesday for five days.

B. Buckley and Mrs. J. L. Anthony, of Abilene, and Mrs.

H. Hcnsley of Cisco are others in the party. They will spend tonight in Houston, some of them as guests in the home of Mrs. Paxton's niece, Mrs. Raymond Czichos, the former Madge Wood of Abilene.

Inaugurated last night with a Mother's Day dance, the program will include a special meeting for the honored guests on Monday. Fry and her daughters, Marjorie and Mary, entertained Friday evening at the Woman's club. Mrs. Lord, whose, home is just out of Chicago, drove here Friday from Dallas, where she has been spending the winter. Mr. MacMurphy, now a resident of Chicago, was publicity director for the West Texas Utilities company when the late Mr.

Fry was president of that company. Mrs Fry received guests informally in the club suite, which was decorated with garden roses. Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Grimes sang duet arrangements of Look Down Dear Eyes (Fisher) and I Feel Thine Angel Spirit (Hoffman), after which Mrs.

Grimes gave Rain (Curran) zr.i You'd Better Ask Me (O'Hara). Mrs. C. W. Delmar was accompanist.

Following breakfast Saturday morning with Mrs. Fry, Mrs Lord returned to Dallas from which point she goes to Little OC to join Mr. MacMurphy for a visit with their mother, Mrs. Pettcngiu. Mrs.

Lord's 18-year-old daughter, Betty, debutante this winter in Dallas, will join her mothcv at New York from where they will sail June for France to visit with 15-year- old Kathleen Lord, student in Paris. Pearce. A report from the national con. gress, held recently in Washington, D. was read by Mrs. Baker.

The report was sent by Mrs. J. D. Sandefer, delegate from the Abilene chapter, who has gone on to New York for a visit. Members of a year book committee were appointed as follows: Mrs.

Special guests were Polly Anna Phlpps of Hardm-Simmons university: Christine Killinssworth of McMurry; and Martha Elizabeth Copeland of Abilene Christian college. Parish Dinner Held In Country. Club For 250 Two hundred and fifty members of the Heavenly Best Episcopal church parish and guests were present Friday for a dinner at the Abilene Country club. Larkspur and yellow daisies decorated tables from which a barbecue dinner was served. After the supper a program, lor which Mrs.

G. Batjer was chairman, was presented. A "take off" on radio, the program opened with Caleb Reed taking the microphone for station COHR, Church of the Heavenly Rest. Max Bentley was first on the program, followed by Ima Jean Knight, who impersonated Kate Smith. Bob Burns was imitated by Bob Batjer, while the Boswell sisters were portrayed by Ima Jean Knight, Eunice Parramore and Mary Frances Tittle.

Mrs. Abe Langford and E. G. Batjer imitated Easy Aces, while the Personality Girl of radio was impersonated by Marcheal Neal, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Gene Heard.

Harold Thomas was accompanist for all other musical selections. After readings by Mrs. Flora Barrow, the program was concluded by singing of "Auld Lang Syne" by the guests. Social events for the week at McMurry college will be luncheon Monday evening with the annual banquet of the Language club, to be held at Hotel Wooten. Wah Wahtaysees of McMurry college will install new officers afc an annual tea, to be held at 4:30 Tuesday afternoon at the Abilene Woman's club, with Mrs.

W. J. Mathews acting as hostess, "exes" have been invited to attend. The annual slumber party and picnic at Buffalo Gap is slated Wednesday. Two annual dinners are on the calendar for McMurry college, Thursday evening the annual freshman class banquet to be held at Hotel Wooten, and the TIP.

club dinner honoring senior members, also planned for the Wooten. Third game in the May Bridge tournament of the Abilene club will be played Monday evening, at the club. Mr. and Mrs. C.

Beta Sigma Phi, to be given Tuesday evening at 7:43 at the Hilton hotel. Mrs. W. B. Martin of Eastland will direct installation of officers for Central Parent-Teacher association at the final meeting of the club for the season, to be held Monday at 3:30 at the school.
