"We haven't been able to place him at either place," said Hay, whose office hasn't dealt with a missing-person case since 1981.

"Nobody saw him. We've interviewed around 71 people. "We've driven all the possible routes from his home to the ranch in Texas, and from his home to Elk City, and we haven't found anything. We've also flown it, looking for a hidden wreck, and we haven't seen anything." Fliers with Dirick-son's picture and a sketch of the unidentified man have been posted throughout western Oklahoma. Dirickson is about 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs from 200 to 230 pounds.

Leonard Dirickson, 39, of Cheyenne has been missing since Saturday morning, Roger Mills County Sheriff Joe Hay said. "This is very unusual for this guy," Hay said. "Occasionally, you have a guy who twists off and goes away for a while.

But that's not this guy. He's not a drinker and not a doper. He's a hard-working guy." Dirickson was last seen by his son while leaving his home northwest of Strong City with an unidentified man. The son told authorities he didn't get a good look at the man through the windshield, although he thought the man had a reddish-brown beard. The two reportedly left in a white, late-model Ford pickup with a yellow tag on the front.
