Circus Gets In City Early Dowme Bros, bog three-ring circus, under the management of Charles Sparks, who conducted bus own shows for years, arrived in this city early today from Brattleboro, Vt, and immediately proceeded to the show grounds off Summer street and got ready for two performances, one this afternoon and the pther tonight. The circus, like all the other big tent attractions, gave no parade and had all the more tune to get ready for the big crowd of sightseers who flocked to the circus grounds during the day.

Hie show travels by motor and 69 trucks rolled through Main street on the way to the show grounds. Quite a few circus fans were on hand lor the show The tented city surprised the spectators as it was much larger than, expected. It has a big tent, side shows and musical organizations to attract the public and the management is confident the patrons will enjoy the performances The doors opened at 1 o'clock today and the matinee performance began at 2 o'clock The gorgeous opening spectacle is entitled, "The Evolution of Rhythm" and is replete with color and splendor. Jack Hoxw, the famous cowbAV screen hero, with Dixie Starr, his leading lady in many pictures, and his wonder horse "Scout," appealed to a large number. He is assisted by a number of cowboys and cowgirls from HoOy- wood Other features include the Hanneford family, featuring George, the riding clown; the Aerial Roberts, the Aerial Whites, Frisco's seals, Manon Shufford, dainty equestrianne, Sparks' high school horses, and many other acts which have won approval everywhere.

The structure, of colonial design and finished in red brick and storve will be open from 8 to 10 m. for public inspection The entire cost of the building, erected on the site of the old town hall burned on Feb 7 1935 has been covered bv insurance on the former building and by a federal grant Of this, $30,000 came from insurance and $25,000 from the federal government. Plans for the new structure which is of three floors, including the basement, were drawn by Harold Owens, architect of Manchester General contractors were Shattack, of- Manchester The new hall will provide every facility to make it a community center In its basement are quarters for the town fire and highway departments a police cell room a large boiler room providing steam heat, shower baths and comfort stations accessible from outside the building On the ground floor are permanent quarters for the American Legion, with kitchen adjoining and a dumb-waiter leading from the kitchen i- the auditorium above, a public library With its reading room panelled Flemish oak as well as quarters for the Greenville postoffice and offices of the selectmen The postoffice contains a large vault The auditorium on the third floor has a seating capacity of 500 and is equipped with moving picture looms, soundproof walls and ceiling and a large stage at the rear center Opening off the main hall are rest looms and a cloak room By the use of removable chairs, the auditorium can be utilized for dances, banquets) and various indoor games The town committee in charge of construction included Pease chairman Alfred E.
