SMITH KERNKE CARPET FLOOR WORLD Oklahoma's Onlv DuDont Floorina Center HARBOUR Beulah Lerida, of Oklahoma City, passed away February 12, 1999. She was born in Iowa Park, Texas on April 15, 1916, and married Dell Harbour of Iowa Park on October 11, 1934. Beulah and Dell lived in Texas until 1949 when they moved with their three sons to Duncan, Oklahoma. Dell died in 1968, and she moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where she resided until her death.

Beulah was a beautiful person in every way and was so loved by her family and friends. She loved her independence and was a person of strong conviction and great courage. She loved cooking and was an avid sports fan. Beulah was devoted to her sons and no one could have had a better mother. He also worked in the administrative levels of the larger church as Moderator of Presbytery, two terms as Chair of the Committee on Ministry, and as both Moderator of Synod and a delegate to the General Assembly that ratified the Westminster Confession of 1967. The Oklahoma City community was also important to him.

After several years with the old Britton Kiwanis Club, he joined The Stockyards Lions, serving both in many ways including as Presidenl. He regularly attended the symphony and Lyric productions, and was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, Men's Dinner Club, and Sportsman's Club, as well as the Navy League and other groups reflecting his many interests. And his love of history was expressed for him in a personal way through genealogy. He treasured new family connections with once-distant cousins and became an organizer and clearinghouse, while doing individual research. Tom, along with Elizabeth, be came a member of the Oklahoma Genealogy So ciety, an internet user and a traveler to ancient places.

Family reunions became a regular part of his life and he had many books and files on the Garretts and the Duvalls, the Forgevs and the Coopers, et al. Finally, Tom had a nearly life-long dedication to the Boy Scouts of America. From his becoming a Cub Scout at Horace Mann to earning his Eagle rank in Troop 200, Ihrough membership in Alpha Phi Omega and many adult leadership roles, to life time membership on the Executive Board of the Last Frontier Council, he spent untold hours over more than sixty-five years. He was a member of the Order of the Arrow and of Woodbadge, and received the Silver Beaver award in 1965. He consid ered his work with the boys in Scouting programs to be his most important' activity.

He was the Scoutmaster of Troop 27 when his two young brothers were Scouts from 1950 to 1953. Tom took council troops to two National Jamborees. After helping reactivate Troop 15 at First Presbyterian in 1956, he was its first Scoutmaster. He again served as Scoutmaster from 1972 to 1980 while his four sons were Scouts. Not an outdoorsman, Tom felt camping was crucial to the experience for the boys, worth any discomfort for the adults, so Troop 15 has a tradition of monthly campouts.

Tom continued to serve the troop and his church as Scouting Coordinator. Those who will miss him most are his family, his wife, Elizabeth, of the home, truly the love of his life; their children and families, Bruce and Julie Garrett and children, Chris and Molly Marquette, Ryan Marquette and Allie Garrett of Tulsa, Keith and Gayle Garrett of San Jose, CA, and their children, Sam Simmons and Lisa Robert Robles and children, Alyssa and Sam, Paul, Kim and Ka telyn Garrett of Richardson, Texas, John, Ja-ymzlinn and Dashiell Garrett of Green River, Utah, and Kathy and Roger Wil-lard of Houston, Texas and son, Jared Willard. He is also survived by his sisters, Jean Sparkman of York, PA, and Jerry Haynes and husband, Roger of Houston, Texas, and his brothers, Joe Garrett of Sacramento, CA, Robert Garrett and wife, Jane of Oklahoma City, Dr. Donald Garrett and wife, Judy of Lawton, and many treasured nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
