Recently, KFOR and many of the staff were honored with awards from several organizations, including the Society of Professional Journalists, the Oklahoma City Advertising Club, the Black Media Advancement Association, the National Press Photographers Association and the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters. On Feb. 17, the Japanese Public Television network, had a crew at KFOR to examine the station's weather technologies and coverage of severe weath William J. Katsafan-as, vice president and general manager of KFOR-TV (4), has been named president of the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters for 1994. Katsafanas has been with KFOR since 1989.

The association is a statewide organization of radio and television stations created more than 40 years ago to protect and enhance Oklahoma's broadcasting industry. Included are 13 television stations, 117 radio stations and five educational institutions.
