"Relief parcel a have not been delivered and the prisoner of war camps have been placed in areas in proximity to military objectives, exposing th' prisoners to danger of attack." Not since "My Darling Clementine" have we seen a more exciting pun battle on the screen than that in "High Noon," which had its New York premiere at the Mayfair Theatre yesterday. In the earlier western Wyatt Earp was seen wiping out the vicious Clanton gang at the OK corral near Tomb-atone, Ariz. In "High Noon," Marshal Will Kane of Hadley-ville engages, single-handed, in a deadly contest with ex-con-vict Frank Miller and his three cronies.

The indictments were returned by the additional July grand jury, which is investigating firetraps. With the Greene case acted on, the jurors are expected now to consider the homicide charge against Mrs. Bessie Honig, owner of the tenement, which, authorities say, was overcrowded and lacked safeguards required by law.

Mrs. Honig is free in $15,000 bail. Greene was removed from the Raymond St. jail, where he has been held since his arrest June 27, and taken before Judge Nathan Sobel in County Court, Brooklyn. Sobel accepted a pleatf innocent from Greene, then ordered him committed to Kings County Hospital for observation.

Tightly-Packed Action. All the action occurs in the hour and a half it takes to run off the film. It begins one Sunday morning, a long time ago, in the frontier town of Hadleyville. Marshal Will Kane, who'd cleaned up the town with the help of its decent citizenry, is about to turn in his badge and move to another town with his bride, to settle1 down to the tame business of keeping a shop. As the Kanes are about to drive way, word is sent to the marshal that Frank Miller, the town's former bad man, has been released from prison and is due on the noon train.

Kane's bride pleads; with him to let the town take care of Miller. All his friends urge him to 'leave before the train comes in. But Kane's conscience gets the better of his impulse to run and let some other fellow finish the job.

He tries to round up a posse and when he fails to get help from his fellow townsmen, he walks out alone to meet the quartet of gunmen. The suspense of the incident mounts as the minbtes tick away on the town clock and the hands move irrevocably toward high noon. The atmosphere is saturated with tension as Kane waits for his adversaries. Good Job by Cooper. Cooper gives a fine performance, one of his best, as the deserted marshal and he is assisted by an excellent cast that includes Thomas Mitchell, Lloyd Bridges, Otto Kru-ger, Lon Chaney, Henry Morgan, Harry Shannon and Ian MacDon-ald in the principal male roles and pretty Grace Kelly, as the bride.
