(So help me!) The author may have thought she was writing an epic like "Death of Registered Pharmacist." The producer, Dorothy Natter, may have thought she was producing an epic; anyhow, she gavethe play a fine and dingy setting by Ralph Alswang. I can't guess what Basil Langton, the director, may have been thinking during rehearsals, if any.
