Fire in Harrisburg leaves 17 homeless HARRISBURG (AP) A fire that left 17 people homeless in Harrisburg caused up to $1 million in damage, city officials say. The four-alarm fire ripped through a corner apartment building early Wednesday. All residents escaped unharmed and no firefighters were injured, Fire Chief Donald Konkle said. Mayor Stephen Reed said the blaze was the largest fire in Harrisburg in 1992.

It was the fourth major fire in the city in the past two weeks. Initial estimates set the damage at $500,000. The blaze, reported at 1:20 a.m., gutted the brick building, which is four-stories high on each end with two three-story center sections in the middle. Six apartments were in the building, and a restaurant was on the first floor, Reed said. Konkle said an electrical malfunction in a second-floor apartment apparently started the fire.

Officials are conducting an investigation to pinpoint the cause. 1 AT ROUTZAHN'S a mi 1 Li A I I REGISTER TOWINA FREE RCA 27. STEREO MONITOR TV DETAILS IN STORE DRAWING TO BE HELD JAN. 5, MM Fistol and Kiiie Club. Surviving are his wife, Ruby Laverne Seiders Seville; a daughter, Michelle (Mrs.
