Refugees Reunited to See TV Movie of Experiences Dr. Haing S. Hood commented on Kevin's reaction to the film: "Kevin has a few things to think about now. He has always known about his background, but he never had the chance to feel it with any emotional impact. I hope it makes him appreciate her and his people all the more." IN an unusual evening of reality and entertainment, a select group of Vietnamese former refugees were reunited recently in Washington, D.C., and met the stars who portray them in a gripping television movie based on their experience. The 15th anniversary of their 1975 departure from Saigon was commemorated with the first screening of Presents "Last Flight Out' which airs from 8 to 10 p.m. Tuesday on KFOR-TV (4), Heading the guest list were Allan H. Topping and Daniel Hood, Pan American airlines employees who figured prominently in the unofficial rescue operation. In 1975 Topping was Pan Am's Saigon station manager, responsible for deciding when to schedule the last flight, knowing that those remaining behind would face certain death.

Hood, an off-duty Pan Am pilot, voluntarily flew to Saigon to assist in evacuating orphans who had been wounded in the failed "Operation Babylift" The emotion-filled evening reunited Hood and Topping, dozens of Vietnamese passengers who had )een smuggled on board and the entire original flight crew (headed by Captain Robert Berg and calin attendants Pam Tay- Richard Crenna stars as Dan Hood, a Pan Am pilot who travels to Vietnam to help in an unofficial evacuation of American and Vietnamese civilians in "Last Flight Out," to air at 8 p.m. Tuesday on KFOR-TV (4). lor, Susan Matson and Tra Duong). Also attending the screening were former airline employee Jim Eckes, who helped in the rescue operation; Dr. James D.

Simpson, a doctor at the American hospital; and Kevin Hood, whom Dan Hood adopted after promising his Vietnamese mother that her then-4-year-old child would have a good life in the United States.
