KFOR-TV 'Barnstorming1 Cover Story KFOR-TV says its new motto and new call letters are in keeping with the pioneering spirit in Oklahoma just as the station itself was a pioneer in television in 1949. At that time it was known as WKY later KTVY and today KFOR-TV (4). General manager Bill Katsafanas said, "We are making a total commitment to change our programs and our news to meet the needs of the people in Oklahoma. We are also promising to build a partnership with the community we serve." In keeping with this new commitment, the KFOR-TV news team will be ready at a moment's notice to travel anywhere in the state to cover a story. During May, reporter Kelly Ogle and photographer Chuck Musgrove will be putting together a series of reports called "Oklahoma Strong." "It's a barnstorming approach to news," said Ogle.

"Chopper-4 is ready for take-off day or night to go where news is happening. No distance is too great to travel, so call us if something happens in your town." "Oklahoma Strong" will give people across Oklahoma the chance to meet others who are working to build a better future. Viewers will see how towns are tackling tough problems and finding solutions. It will put Oklahomans in touch with each other and let them know about important issues that could affect their lives. KFOR-TV reporter Kelly Ogle travels the state to do a series of reports called "Oklahoma Strong." Archie, Friends Back in Riverdale THE characters from the "Archie" comic books, which have been a staple of Saturday-morning animation since the late 1960s, become characters in a live-action series pilot airing as the TV-movie "Archie: To Riverdale and Back Again" at 8 p.m.

Sunday on KFOR-TV (4). The format is not unlike the "Dobie Gillis" reunion of a few seasons back: Archie and his pals known in the classic comics as a gang of teen-agers are now adults in their 30s, gathering for a Riverdale High School class reunion. Christopher Rich plays lawyer Archie, Karen Kopins and Lauren Holly play Veronica and Betty, Gary Kroeger is the conniving businessman Reggie and Sam Whipple plays psychiatrist Jughead. David Doyle (Charlie's Angels) plays Mr. Weatherbee, the principal, Fran Ryan (Gun-smoke) plays teacher Miss Grundy and Jeff Ho-chendoner plays Moose.

Archie's dilemma involves the women of his carefree teen years and whether to stay in Riverdale or take a big-city law-firm post in this comedy-drama from producer Tom Patchett. From left, Lauren Holly, Christopher Rich and Karen Kopins star in "Archie, To Riverdale and Back Again," at 8 p.m. Sunday on KFOR-TV (4). MAY 6, 1990 TV NEWS.
