The first OSU touchdown came on a 48-yard surge which featured a 17-yard pass from Burk to Taylor and an 11-yard run by Burk. Miller sailed easily around left end with split end Gerald Bain screening off two Husk- for the final four and the Cowboys were back in the game. Daigle was decked while kicking his team's 14th point, rein-juring a knee.

It proved costly when Gary Ir-ions missed barely a conversion following the third Cowboy touchdown. That touchdown came only three plays after Nebraska had scored to make it a 28-14 game. Starting from the 26, Miller lost drive of the day. Given new life, the Huskers covered the 16 yards in four plays. Robert Turner lost the other fumble, also charging through the line, shortly after the Cowboys had pulled back into contention at 21-14.

Again, only four plays were needed as the Huskers went in from 27 yards out. The third Nebraska touchdown came on an 80-yard drive in 13 plays. At the OSU 23, the Huskers elected to pass on third-and-two. Dave Sharnblin made a diving catch on the Cowboy one. It is insisted by many that films will show the ball bounced into his hands.

Nebraska's fumbled punt came on the fifth play of the second half with the Huskers leading 21-7. Bobby Thomas signaled a fair catch, but dropped the ball and Coppola plopped on it. Burk ran for two and eight and Miller season and the 6-3, 208-pounder did it again. He personally scored two of the touchdowns on short sneaks and passed eight yards to John O'Leary and 10 yards to Brad Jenkins for the other. The Cowboy fumbles, their only lost ones of the day, set up easy Husker scores.

Miller dropped the first one at the line of scrimmage two plays after the Cowboys had stopped Nebraska's opening quarterback Terry Luck on the game's 13th play, (2) Cowboy fumbles on their 16 and 27, (3). a diving catch (a trap?) to set up a Husker touchdown, M) Nebniska's fumbled punt on its 14 and (5) a sidelining injury to OSU kicker Abby Daigle. Luck's injury did not turn out to be a good break for the Cowboys. Fcrragamo has rescued the Huskers on other occasions this i-agamo for a five-yard loss on third-and-one. Ferragamb was trying work a fake end-around on which he'd stung the Cowboys for a big gain earlier.

This set the stage for the bad center snap and the pulsating finish which had the crowd of 48,500 third largest in Lewis Field history roaring. Among the many other pivot a 1 "breaks" were (1) an injury to starting Nebraska Cont. From Page One WHERE THE GREAT MIDWEST SAVES! ready- 28-20 when it happened. Oklahoma State, starting from its 15, had used a 29-yard pass from Scott Burk who came of age at quarterback in this game to Sam Lisle and good running by Miller, Burk and Robert Turner to march down the field. The Cowboys were perched on the Husker 22.

It was first-and-15 since they'd just drawn a penalty for illegal motion. Burk pitched back to Miller, who took a couple of steps left and then lofted the ball into the air. Ricky Taylor and Husker safety Jim Burrow were in the end zone at the spot the ball came down. Taylor, in front of his rival, clutched the football to his chest. The official closest to the scene signaled touchdown.

Another official, who had a different angle, threw a flag, ruling Dffensive interference. Nebraska had its choice of taking the football at that spot which in this case, meant the 20 or having a penalty stepped off against the Cowboys from the line of scrimmage. Guess which Nebraska chose? From the 20 Nebraska was unable to gain a first down and punted to the OSU 34. The Cowboys surged right back into Husker territory, reaching the 3G, before another in-mo-lion infraction on first down stopped them. Another Cowboy possession, beginning from their 37 with 7:37 remaining, produced nothing.

However, Cliff-Parsley put the Huskers in a hole with a 48-yard punt on which Peter Coppola made a jolting tackle of the receiver, on the Nebraska four. However, the -Huskers punched out to the 45 before Lorenzo Turner flattened Husker quarterback Vince Fer- 4 BIG PALL SALE DAYS FESTIVAL M0N. THRU THURS.
