THE DAILY OKLAHOMAN 1 May 24, 1967 17. City Purchases No Change Seen for Allowable Due to Pick Up Shock Death Study Funded As Year Ends NBC Show OfiersEest On Record By Odessa Farquhar Stars of this year's "golden set" in the recording field will have their night Wednesday over NBC-TV. Oklahoma City municipal departments will be picking up speed soon. The grant was awarded by City councilmen Tuesday the John A.

Hartford Foundation, of New York. By Deacon New Oklahoma!) Oil Editor Oklahoma oil producers apparently will operate next month under the same allowable now in effect. Most of the purchasing company representatives testifying at the corporation commission's market-demand hearing called for a continuation of the 42-percent factor. That factor permitted Sooner production averaging 619,586 barrels daily the first 13 days of May. That is about in with purchasers' total nominations for June of 619,873 barrels daily, down 4,250 barrels from May requests.

It also is close to the Bureau of Mines forecast of demand for Oklahoma crude in June of 620,000 barrels daily, up 5,000 barrels from the May estimate. Harold Freeman, commission chairman, commented on the rarity of state production, purchasers' nominations and the Bureau of Mines forecast being so close. Companies specifically requesting continuation of the 42-percent factor to be applied to the depth-acreage table included Champlin, Cities Service Oil, Continental, Kerr-McGee, as the purchaser of the oil and- as refiner of the oil," Gockel said. "As such, Kerr-McGee's primary desire is for stability of its operation which depends upon a constant, dependable, steady rate of production from this unit, which supplies from 20 to 25 percent of our total refinery crude supply." Gockel also said as far as his company can determine, the operators of the Apache Unit still are abiding by the commitment made at the time the unit allowable was granted to provide a market for the Apache oil without affecting their purchases of other Oklahoma production. Replying to a question from Freeman, Gockel said companies with interests in the Apache production included Texaco, Sinclair, Gulf, Cities.

Service Oil, Amerada and Hefner. Independent oilmen frequently have protested increases in the Apache Unit allowable, maintaining the Apache production displaced production from other wells in the state. The Apache Unit allowable, first set at barrels daily, has climbed as high as 12,000 barrels a day. It currently is at 10,000 barrels daily. The three-year grant will be Those requesting an allowable "in line with nominations" were Rock Island Oil Refining and Sinclair Refining.

Three firms Mobil, Sohio and Skelly made no specific recommendation. Several company spokesmen mentioned inventories were above desired level but that they are expected to be brought more nearly in line during May. Company-wide stocks of the 25 firms reporting to the commission were placed at barrels above desired level on May 1, compared with a surplus of 13,031,165 barrels on April 1. A breakdown showed crude stocks at barrels above desired level and products stocks 3,236,343 barrels on the surplus side. During the brief heating, A.

The view was expressed by Albert J. Klingel executive director of the Savannah Port Authority, at an interior department hearing to determine whether changes are needed in oil-import regulations. Papers sent to the bureau of land management here reserve all minerals, including petroleum, and apparently most of the claims call for rights in the area coming up for lease on June 13. Some of the claims reportedly were filed as far back as April, with more than 200 alone in Terrebonne Parish. "John Rankin, office manager of the bureau of land management, said that it is not the practice to include petroleum in a mining claim. Merle I. Zweifel, head of Zweifel International Prospectors, of Shawnee, has filed hundreds of placer mining claims on parts of the tidelands and in some inland Louisiana parishes (counties.) where federal lands are located. This was first revealed in a published newspaper report and later verified by his office Tuesday. Mining laws permit an individual to claim 20 acres and an associated 160 acres. The Louisiana filings are in 160-acre bundles.
