'immr In Miller Stan heads again jousting for the Movie Channel Cham-peeeenship. A call from, Channel 34 informed me I may have misled readers about upcoming movies on Channel 25. Here are the facts, ma'am: Some of those recent, BIG movies Channel 25 has planned (including The Sting and Saturday Night Feuer) will hot be seen real soon. Some may not be shown until 1984 (a little far off to mark on your daily calendar.) The mix-up, if there was one, was my fault. (It takes a big TV critic to admit that.) Channel 25 knows it will be showing those films and promoted them on literature they mailed me.

I inferred the films would be shown soon. Sorry. They won't. Channel 34 says it has some big movies ahead Jaws, The Deer Hunter and Taxi Driver but they, too, will not be seen till much later. The rules about movie sales and distribution are apparently quite complex.

The bidding for Star Wars, to be shown locally around 1998, should be starting soon. Channel 34 has replaced Saturday Night Live! at 9 p.m. weekdays cam, from Wichita, will share duties will Bella Shaw. Full funding for public television has apparently been assured. Drastic cuts that had been feared never materialized.

(What were all those hysterics from PBS officials earlier this -year?) God, apparently, DOES watch over dogs, drunks and PBS. Both should.be top quality. The mammoth Shakespeare-play series rolls on with King Lear, A Comedy of Errors and others. The irreverent, insightful Mark Russell will return Oct. 27 to make some sense (or at least humor) out of nonsensical Washington, D.C. 34 and 25 are Cleveland to work on PM Mag.

We're told working for PM Magazine in Cleveland can be very much like working for PM Mag in Oklahoma City. The big difference is a fatter paycheck from the Ohio station (because Cleveland's a bigger market). To think good ol' Stan Miller would trade OKC for more money. PM Magazine? OK. The secret can now be told. Miller loaded up his alligator and polp-poriy shirts and headed to a Chicago station to work on PM Magazine there. Somewhere along the way, however, the Chicago station dropped, the show. Undaunted, Miller turned east, and went to YOU OMN RENT JPL SPECIAL" ASK FOR 15.00 OFF!
