Reasons, a former Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz coach, normally is a game analyst. Since FSN Southwest (Cox 37) is broadcasting only one Big 12 game this week, he is free to handle the special assignment. He will be joined by play-by-play announcer Joel Meyers, analyst Dave Lapham and sideline reporter Jim Knox on the national FSN telecast. "I think it will bring a different dimension to the game," Reasons said. "My role is to react to what I see on the field.

You try to bring an aspect of maybe something you don't see upstairs and bring out some points that are an important part of the game." Reasons, 46, a former New York Giants linebacker, said he is looking forward to being closer to the action. He has experience as a sideline reporter with ABC. "From a player's perspective, going from the playing field to the booth, you lose that feel, that emotion, that passion, the pace of the game that is really down on the field," he said. Reasons expects TCU's defense will provide a good test for the No. 2 Sooners.

The Horned Frogs lead the nation in total defense and rank sixth in scoring defense. "TCU is definitely a well-coached defensive football team. The numbers speak for themselves," Reasons said. "I don't know if on a man-for-man basis, TCU has the athletes that Oklahoma has." FSN isn't Reasons' only broadcast outlet this fall. He and KFOR-4 sports director Bob Barry Jr.

co-host two football preview shows at 10:30 a.m. on KAUT-43 (Cox 16) "Gridiron Saturday" and "Gridiron Sunday," featuring college football and the NFL, respectively. Guests this week include TCU radio announcer Brian Estridge on Saturday and Baltimore Ravens radio voice Gerry Sandusky on Sunday. Reasons isn't the only sportscaster in his family. His son, Nick, a former Nicholls State football player, is a national correspondent for "He does a video package that he produces, edits and does the talent on," Reasons said.

Remington Report HIGH SCHOOL 11 a.m. Oklahoma Express K0CB-34 (Cox 11) The Ryder Cup induces temporary insanity. Match play draws more spontaneous reactions because it's man against man rather than man against course. "Match play is just so much more exciting because of all the things that happen, back and forth," Morgan said. Morgan and Mark Hayes were on Team USA's victorious Ryder Cup team in 1979, the first year the competition involved Europe rather than just Great Britain and Ireland.

Morgan also was on the 1983 team, which squeaked out a 14V-13V victory to push Team USA's overall Ryder Cup series lead to 21-3-1 at the time. "Back then, we won about every time, so there wasn't the involvement with the Europeans winning and everyone getting all fired up over it," said Morgan, who turned 62 on Thursday. "Plus, golf is a lot more popular today than it was in those eras." There certainly is room in golf for raucous fans, but there also is a time and a place. Losing your senses before a hole has been completed is neither the time nor the place. Golfers share in this responsibility.

They should react to the crowd. Instead, some have resorted to coaxing or taunting the fans. Here's hoping some decorum returns. Please, gentlemen, a little dignity. Oklahoma scene Morning roundup Kim shoots 64, opens 4-shot lead at Tour Championship Four days after Anthony Kim humbled Sergio Garcia in the Ryder Cup, he beat 29 players just as badly Thursday at the Tour Championship in Atlanta.

Showing no effects of a Ryder Cup hangover, the former University of Oklahoma golfer fired off eight birdies on his way to a 6-under 64 to build a four-shot lead over Trevor Im-melman, Ernie Els and Phil Mickelson. K.J. Choi was the only other golfer to break par on a windy day at East Lake. He shot a 69. Lang wins Senior Women's Amateur again: Diane Lang won the USGA Senior Women's Amateur for the third time in four years, beating Toni Wiesner 6 and 5 at Tulsa Country Club.

Patriots receiver Brown retires: Troy Brown retired after 15 seasons with the New England Patriots. The wide receiver, an eighth-round draft pick out of Marshall, spent his entire career with the Patriots. Ex-Bears back Benson won't face charges: Two Travis County, Texas, grand juries declined to indict former Chicago Bears running back Cedric Benson on charges of boating while intoxicated, resisting arrest and driving while intoxicated, meaning the former Texas star won't face any charges. Rockets match offer for Landry: The Houston Rockets matched the Charlotte Bobcats' three-year, $9 million offer sheet for restricted free-agent Carl Landry, keeping the forward in Houston. Compiled from wire reports stare whenever his ball found the bottom of the cup, which was quite often.

"Oh, man. Those eyes," Oak Tree's Dr. Gil Morgan said of Poulter. "He was focused beyond belief. I thought to myself, That's got to be awfully tiring, keeping your eyes open all the time like If anyone should know about eyes, it's Dr.

Gil, a licensed optometrist until a few years ago. Golf writers at ringside had Poulter and Northern Ireland's Graeme McDowell with punch counts of at least 30 each for the entire competition. "Everybody who was watching it on television with me was saying, 'Golly, that just doesn't look very Morgan said of the punchy combatants, both foreign and domestic. Spain's Sergio Garcia let out a primal scream after draining a birdie putt. Steve Strieker capped that with a birdie of his own and let out a scream himself.

Things are way out of kilter if Steve Strieker is screaming. Morgan watched bits and pieces of Team USA's 16V-11V victory over Europe at Valhalla, but luckily missed several segments of the Boo Weekley Show. Weekley has many charming qualities, but hopping on his driver and riding it like a horse off the No. 1 tee box doesn't qualify. An unfortunate consequence of last weekend's energized Ryder Cup is American fans now want their golfers to be more demonstrative during competitions.

Let's hope not. New England Patriots star receiver Wes Welker and Billboard Top Performing Artist Graham Colton will help assemble sacks of groceries for the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma's Food 4 Kids program. Welker and Colton, who were teammates at Heritage Hall, will be at the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma at 2:30 p.m. today. The Regional Food Bank is located at 3355 S.

Sooners announce wrestling slate: Oklahoma released its 2008-09 wrestling schedule Thursday with home a dual with Oklahoma State set for Dec. 7. Other home duals include a home opener with NCAA Division II power Central Oklahoma on Nov.

13 and Maryland on Jan. 16. The Sooners will host Big 12 rivals Missouri on Feb. 6 and Nebraska on Feb. 8.
