Katina Paxinou and Jarmilla Novotna. His performance in "Bright Boy" won nim the New York Drama Critics' award for the most promising actor of 1946.

At the beginning of his theatrical career Donald's stage friends thought he should take a new name. But what name? The late Alexander Woollcott came up with a bright idea at a party one night. Everybody think up a name, write it on a slip of paper and put it in a hat. Donald was blindfolded and told to take a slip from the hat. The slip he pulled out of a hat bore his own name, Donald Buka, put in as a gag by Woollcott.

That settled the renaming business and Donald says he couldn't have been more pleased. but he is not yet well known to movie xans De-cause his appearances have been few and far between. His first was in "Watch on the Rhine," in which he played Bette Davis' oldest son. Last year he. was seen in "Street With No Name," recently in "Between Midnight and Dawn." In both these films he played gangsters and, being a good actor, he played the roles well. But he wasn't the star in either film and not enough fans remembered the name of the actor who portrayed the bad man.

In "Vendetta," Donald plays opposite Faith Domergue, Howard Hughes' new feminine star. This film is an adaptation of Prosper Merimee's "Colomba," a novel of love and retribution in post- Napoleonic Corsica. He has the role of Pardino, political outlaw who is enamored of the girl, Colomba. Girls Should Like Him. Two to one, I'll wager, that after eeing Donald as the dashing Cor-sican in "Vendetta" the movie pub-lie will be Donald Buka conscious.

To be helpful I will tell you something of his personality and background. About the size of Tyrone Power, a little taller and slimmer, perhaps, Donald has black hair, blue eyes and clean-cut features.
