NBC Newsman Worked at WKY A face lamiliar to local TV viewers has been seen frequently during tlie past 10 days in connection with the National Broadcasting company's coverage of Russia's launching of an earth satellite. Identified to network audiences as Frank McGee, the NBC news correspondent will be remembered by Oklahoma TV viewers as Mack Rogers, the professional name he used as a WKY-TV and radio newscaster from 1947 to 1955rWh"ile He" appeared regularly as a news commentator here, he gained special recognition for his once-a-week TV Aftermath show, a background feature on the news. In 1955, McGee shifted to Montgomery, Ala., to head the WSFA-TV news operation. Montgomery, at that time, was the center of the growing storm over the civil rights and racial integration issues. His outstanding and impartial Descendant Is Sought NEW YORK tW-A direct descendant of Louis XIV's playwright Moliere is being sought. The reward: A trip from France to a Broadway opening. Reason for the search is that the producers of the upcoming musical "The Carefree Heart" thought it would be nice to have one of the old master's heirs on hand to view the entertainment which is based upon Moliere's "A Doctor In Spite of Himself." Holloway. as the raffish father of the smash musical's heroine, Eliza Doolittle, will sing "Get Me to the Church on Time" and "With a Little Bit of Luck" for the final time on Broadway December 21. He will be back on the same assignment when the London production of the show reaches the West End April 30. Frank McGee reporting for NBC Radio and TV of such racial issues as the University of Alabama riots over Negro student Autherine Lucy, and the shootings and bombings in the Montgomery bus- integration issue, led to a position on NBC's Washington news staff. He also reported on the Little Rock integration issue. McGee was born in Monroe, La., in 1921. He served five years in the army during World war II. He is married to the former Nialta Sue. Beaird of Norman, Okla., and the father of -tw-0 rliildren-SharonDiani-Mr- and Michael, 6. The McGees live in Bethesda, Maryland. McGee joined the WKY news staff in 1947 after working as advertising salesman, commercial copy writer, music librarian, disc jockey and news editor at radio station KGFF in Shawnee. During the ensuing eight years at WKY. many television news "first" were achieved, including the first TV newsfilm coverage of a criminal trial and the first live TV coverage of a state political convention.
