DEATHS Bryce E. Burkhalter SHARPSVILLE--Bryce E. Burkhalter, 67, Sharpsville, died at 7:45 a.m. Sunday in Tipton County Memorial Hospital. He had been ill for five years.

Burn June 3, 1906, in Sharpsville, he was the son of Fernando and Sally (Collins) Burkhalter. He was married Feb. 27, 1937, to Velma L. Hoffman, who survives. He was a member of the Sharpsville United Methodist Church, Sharpsville Lodge 363, and AM, York Rite, Shrine, Sharpsville Chapter 148, Order of the Eastern Star, Carbidea Club of Kokomo and Quarter Century Club of Kokomo.

He was retired from Stellite Division of Cabot Corporation in 1968. Surviving with the widow is a brother, Wayne Burkhalter of Kokomo. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Warner Funeral Home, Sharpsville, with the Rev. William Flewelling officiating.

Burial will be in Sharpsville Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday. The family prefers that memorials be in the form of contributions to the Heart Fund.

Mrs. Roxie Long Mrs. Roxie Long, 73, 403 W. Grant Greentown, died at 9 p.m. Saturday in Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.

She had been ill for six weeks. Born Aug. 13, 1900, in Greentown, she was the daughter of Charles and Pearl (White) Thrasher. She had formerly been employed by Highway Cafe. Surviving is a sister, Mrs.

Helen Russell of Kokomo. A brother is deceased. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Pickett Funeral Home, Greentown, with the Rev. Harold Bar- cisley officiating.

Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Monday. Edward Inman Edward Inman, 63, Russiaville R.R. 2, died of a heart attack at 9:30 a.m.

Sunday in his home. Born Nov. 3,1910, in Martin County, he was the son of Elza and Sally (Sipes) Inman. He was married Dec. 11, 1930, to Ethel Simpson, who survives.

He was employed by Stellite Division of Cabot Corporation in Kokomo and had farmed in Clinton County for 25 years. He was a member of Russiaville Lodge 82, and AM, the Quarter Century Club, United Steelworkers, Local 2954, and the American Angus Association. Surviving with the widow are two sons, Elza L. Inman of Frankfort R.R. 3 and James W.

Inman of Farmington, three daughters, Mrs. Max (Anna Mae) Miller of Frankfort R.R. 2, Mrs. Dale Leon (Phyllis) McQuinn of Frankfort R.R. 2, and Mrs.

Larry L. (Frances) Kendall of Russiaville; two sisters, Mrs. Thomas (Freda) Porter of Bloomfield and Mrs. William (Lura) Lewis of Bloomfield; a brother, Ivan Inman of Chateau, and eight grandchildren. Two sisters a preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Stout Funeral Home, Russiaville, with the Rev. Merla Craig officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Friends may call after 2 p.m.

Friday in Turtle Creek Convalescent Center. Born Sept. 5,1891, In Clinton County, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ladow.

She was married In 1909 to Ernest Shanks, who preceded her in death in 1963. She was married in 1970, to Verne Moore, who preceded her in death in 1972. She was a member of Women of the Moose and Mothers of World War II. Surviving are three sons, Charles and Marvin Shanks, both of Kokomo, and Ernest Shanks Jr. of Lombard, a daughter, Mrs.

George (Katherine) Somsel of Monticello; a sister, Mrs. Otto (Addie) Anderson of Batavia, a step-sister, Mrs. Fay Fivecoat of Greentown; 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. A daughter and a brother preceded her in death. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m.

Wednesday in Ellers Mortuary, with the Rev. Ray Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Burlington Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Floyd A. Sparks LOGANSPORT--Floyd A. Sparks, 78, 514 16th Logansport, died at 3:35 a.m. Sunday in Chase Manor Nursing Home. He had been ill since August.

Born in Carroll County, Aug. 1,1895, he was the son of Will and Millie (Ferrier) Sparks. He was married in 1921, to Rosa Plank, who preceded him in death in April, 1937. He was a retired machinist. He served with the U.S.

Army during World War 1 and was the recipient of a Purple Heart. He was a member of the 40 and 8 Legion and a 55-year member of the American Legion. Surviving are three sons, John Sparks of Peru R.R. 4, Ralph L. Sparks of Flora and Estel P.

Sparks of Peru R.R. a daughter, Mrs. Jay (Marilyn) Hinkle of Peru; a brother, Glen Sparks of Cutler; a sister, Mrs. Mary Sherman of Cincinnati, Ohio; eight grandchildren and five great- grandchildren. A son, a grandchild and three brothers preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Thomas-Murray Funeral Home, Galveston, with the Rev. Clyde Byers officiating. Military graveside services will be in Center United Brethren Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m.

Monday. Lloyd L. Perkins AMBOY--Lloyd Leslie Perkins, 83, of Amboy, formerly of Galveston, died at 6:15 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph Memorial Hospital, Kokomo.

He had been ill two weeks. Born in Ervin Township of Howard County June 18,1890, he was the son of Abe and Mary Perkins. His wife, the former Mina Moss, preceded him in death Dec. 7, 1947. He was a retired farmer.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Annabelle Hicks of Galveston and Mrs. Wayne (Mildred) Burrous of Galveston R.R. two sisters, Mrs. Lillian Pickering of Kokomo and Mrs.

Phoebe Bell of Kokomo R.R. five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A twin brother and a daughter preceded him in death. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Thomas-Murray Funeral Home, Galveston.

Burial will be in Galveston Cemetery. SHOPLIFTING CHARGED Ronnie Lee Huddleston, 20, Carmel, was arrested at Ary-Way in the Markland Mall at 5:30 p.m. Sunday on a charge of theft by shoplifting. Hurshel Jacobs, 72, former county official here, dead Mondiy, KOKOMO (tftd.) TRIBUNE 5 St. Joseph Hospital Hurshel Jacobs, 72, retired farmer and former Hard County commissioner, died Saturday in Methodist Hospital at Houston, following heart surgery. A native of Center Township, Howard County, he was born Oct.

8, 1901, the son of Ward E. and Grace Smith Jacobs. He attended elementary schools in Center Township and Kokomo High School. He farmed 225 acres in this county. In 1948 he was elected county commissioner representing the Second District, and was reelected in 1952.

12th Peru, died at 3:30 a.m. Sunday in Dukes Memorial Hospital. He had been ill for five months. Bom June 1, 1905, in Peru, he was the son of Isma and Mary (Eberle) Whisler. He was married in 1926 to Alice Lawrence, who survives.

He was a retired tool and die maker for Thursh Products Inc. Surviving with the widow are a son, William Whisler of Wellington, a sister, Mrs. Thurman Garner of Peru, and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, with the Rev.

Don Eskew officiating. Cremation will follow with the ashes to be interred in Mount Hope Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday. BILLY B.

BOONE PERU--Billy B. Boone, 53, 616 E. Third Peru, died at 2:15 p.m. Sunday in Howard Community Hospital, Kokomo. He had been ill for eight months.

Born in Wabash, April 5, 1920, he was the son of Lloyd and (Brown) Boone. He was married July 8,1944, to Mary Winke, who survives. He was a conductor on the Norfolk and Western Railroad and a veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church.

Surviving with the widow are two sons, Robert Boone of Indianapolis and Michael Boone, at home; two daughters, Mrs. Robert Kellar and Mrs. Gary Miller, both of Peru; a sister, Miss Vera Boone of Mount Prospect, 111., and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St.

Charles Catholic Church, with the Rev. Timothy Clegg officiating. Burial will be in Ever Rest Memorial Park Cemetery, Cass County. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday in Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home.

Rosary service will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday. Two arrested on several charges Carlton H. Draper, 19, 309 W. Broad way and a 15-year-old youth were arrested Friday night on the parking lot at Haworth High School.

Draper was jailed on charges of third degree burglary illegal possession of alcoholic beverages illegal consumption of alcoholic beverages and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The 15-year-old was charged with two counts of third degree burglary, delinquency, illegal possession of al coholic beverages and illegal con sumption of alcoholic beverages. Police said the two were stealing items from cars parked on the lot. He moved to Edlnburg, four years ago and lived on Edinburg R.R.2. In Kokomo he attended the Main Street Christian Church, and at Edinburg he was a member of the Christian Church. Surviving are the widow, Elva Cole Jacobs; a daughter, Mrs. Karlene Burbrink, Edinburg R.R.2; a sister, Mrs.

Harry (Dortha) Kerby, Kokomo; six grandchildren, and two great grand-children. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Fenn Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert Strain officiating, assisted by the Rev. David Jacobs.

Burial will follow In Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the Eskew Funeral Home in Edinburg from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday and at the Fenn Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. A Masonic service will be held at the Fenn Funeral Home Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
