Sharon Workers To End Holdout, SHARON, Pa. 01J8 About 6.500 Westinghouse employes said today they were ready to end a holdout which stretched three days beyond the end of the 156-day strike by the International Union of electrical workers. But the back to work will not begin until Monday. The Sharon transformer plant is normally closed on weekends.

A voice vote by members of HJE local 617 Friday night ratified the strike-ending contract signed Tuesday night in Washington. The local accepted the company's disposition of the cases of nine employes fired for alleged picket line violence. The company had ordered dismissal for one of the employes and suspensions ranging from 30 days to one year for the eight others. The rank and file of the Sharon local accepted the disposition, provided the union give financial assistance to the dismissed or suspended workers. The local membership also insisted that all cases be submitted to arbitration, as provided under the terms of the new contract.

The dismissed worker is Walter Phillips who last Thursday was convicted of assault and battery for hitting a nc -striker in December during a picket line flare-up. Three other employes were ordered suspended for one year, one for nine months, two for 60 days and two for 30 days. The Sharon local had maintained its picket lines until Thursday night, pending disposition of the cases of the nine dismissed workers The local disbanded its lines after the company had threatened to fire any employe who failed to report within 10 days of notification to return. The new wintry blast came just after the sun and rising temperatures of the past few days had eliminated most of last weekend's four-day storm. Weather observers say it will be clear and warmer tomorrow, which is an outlook generally regarded as a custom in th season of Spring.

Today was another bad day for travelers. Highway surfaces were treacherous in some spots. Local thoroughfares were coited white and motorists found it necessary to move along at a slow rate of speed. Before noon the snowfall stopped, but skies remained cloudy and gray. Slowly rising temperatures gave indication of rain prior to clearing skies.

Motorists who experienced "a hard winter" were reluctant today to again apply chains to rear wheels, since they were getting accustomed to Spring weather. State Police, of the Frackville Detail, said shortly before nqon today that highways were wet but not "too bad." Early this morning they were slippery, the Troopers added. With another week of stormy March ahead, the month that sometimes "comes in like a lamb, could go out like a lion." Tomorrow is Palm Sunday and regardless of snow or rain, churches will be filled with faithful honoring Christ's triumphal march into Jerusalem. Palm will be distributed. Heights Fire Co.

Holy Week Message Of Rev. Wierzalis Rev. George S. Wierzalis. pastor of St.

Mary's Church of Ringtown. issues the following Holy Week message to his parishioners: "Heaven belongs to God. It is impossible for any human being to 'pass-over' from earth to heaven by his own power even more impossible than it is to fly without the aid of a wonderful intricate airplane. "Our Lord, Jesus Christ, by His death, resurrection, and ascension, has made it possible for us human beings to do the impossible. This is called 'Redemption of the If this Redemption of World is to benefit individual human beings, they must make it their 'personal Redemption of the World made it possible to attain heaven, But this possibility or opportunity becomes our personal reality when we sincerely avail ourselves Of all the means of salvation which Jesus Christ continues to offer to human beings through His Church, from the days of the Apostles, till the end of the world.

"Make every effort to participate in the Holy Week services. These ceremonies are not only a pious commemoration of the sacred events that took place almost 2.000 years ago they, jointly with confession and Holy Communion, are another sacred opportunity to make the Redemption of the World a personal redemption for us. "We begin Holy Week services with the Palm Sunday procession. This liturgical practice of our church is approximately 1600 years old, and it is based on a still older procession the one in which Our Lord, Jesus Christ, was the central figure1. "By actively participating in this procession we shall be doing three things: First, recalling the past, when Christ rode from Bethany to Jerusalem, surrounded and followed by great crowds who publicly acclaimed Him as the Messiah.

Secondly, we shall be honoring Christ in the present. This procession is our public manifestation of our loving loyalty to Him. Thirdly, we shall be anticipating, or rehearsing, our own future general procession into heaven. That gigantic procession will take place at the end of the world, and it will conclude God's plan for the Redemption of Mankind. "Another prominent liturgical practice of Palm Sunday is the reading of the 'Passion' in place of the Sunday gospel during Holy Mass, that Is, reading of the complete history of Christ's suffering and death as it is written by St.

Matthew. On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Good Friday it will be read from the Gospel of the remaining three Evangelists. "A brief explanation of the liturgical ceremonies for Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Vigil will follow." Schedule of Holy Week services for St. Mary's follows: Confessions (Sacrament of Penance), Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, before Holy Mass in the morning; Wednesday, 4 p. m.
