50 eard MR. AND MRS. OSCAR JACOBSON of 233 Madison will greet friends and relatives at an open house Sunday noting their golden wedding anniversary. Hours for the event are from 2 to 5 o'clock in the afternoon and 7 to 9 o'clock in the evening. The Jacobsons were married by the Rev.

Peter Peterson of the First Lutheran Church Feb. 24,1904, when she was Miss Florence Landstrum. They have three sons, Harold and Rodney of Qskaloosa, Iowa, and Paul of Galesburg, and a daughter, Mrs. E. R.

Horton of Galesburg. All will be present with their families Sunday. Mr. Jacobson was with the Michelson Overall Co. for some years before retiring.

JBaptist Meetings Scheduled Friday Meetings are scheduled for four circles of- the First Baptist Church Friday in the various homes of church members at 2 o'clock in the afternoon. Mrs. Raymond Walters of 561 W. South St. will be hostess to the Charity Carman Circle which is led by Mrs.

Roy Oberling. Mrs. Florence Miller will offer the devotions and Mrs. R. G.

Mustain will present the program concerning Gandhi and India. For the Nina Bowers Circle meeting in the home of Mrs. Karl Aldrich at 441 N. Cherry the program will be given by Mrs. Frederick Gilson.

Mrs. Mary Seuss is the leader and will also conduct the worship service. Mrs. Wallace Thompson will be the program leader for the meeting of the Anne Hansen Circle in the home of Mrs. Paul Monson at 999 Day St.

where Mrs. Paul Schwanke will preside at the business session. Mrs. Lynn Scudder will present devotions. Mrs.

R. W. Landcnberger will entertain the Emily Ballard Circle members in her home at 1255 N. Cherry St. Mrs.

Allie Schneider will give devotions and Mrs. J. J. Herron will present a book review. Leader of the circle is Mrs.

Meet Presenting both the charm and realism of "Cress Delahanty," Mrs Warren Morris of the Galesburg Public Library reviewed the book by Jesamine West as the highlight for the recent afternoon meeting of the Rebecca Parke Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution.

Two New Members Two new members, Miss Harriet Weinberg and Mrs. Mable Smith were introduced as were two guests, Mrs. Dorothy Grabill, Jacksonville, and Mrs. Charles Hillier's daughter, Mrs. Petty of Evanston.

Mrs. Wendell Heule gave a re port on the progress of the Bricker amendment and read ap propriate paragraphs concerning American ideals by Abraham Lincoln. Refreshments were served by the committee in charge with Mrs. John Moreland and Mrs. Richard Torley as co -chairmen.

GRUBB SCHOOL P. T. A. The February meeting of the Grubb Parent-Teacher Association will be held in the school auditorium Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Dr.

Frances Kapusinski Dayton will speak on "Our Children's Health." P. T. A. members and friends are invited. A social hour will follow.

Harry Morrell Is Hostess to Unit II Twelve members of Unit II of the Home Bureau were entertain ed in the home of Mrs. Harry Mor rilJ, 249 Pine Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. John Maxwell served as co-hostess. The minor lesson was given by Mrs.

James Riley. Her topic was "Handwriting both Social and Busi ness." Mrs. Maxwell conducted the business meeting and roll call was given by the secretary, Mrs Scott Radar. Mrs. Allen, sunshine chairman, gave a report.

Mrs Morrill announced plans for play day to be Feb. 25. Members are being asked to take a pencil, own table service and one dish of food for the all day affair. The rummage sale will be held Feb. 20 and any member having articles for the sale is being asked to contact Mrs.

Scott Radar or Mrs Harry Morrill. The next meeting will be in the home of Miss Adelia Johnson of near Galesburg. Good Cheer Class Meets Mrs. Ralph Johnson of near Gilson gave a travelogue and showed slides of their summer trip through the western states at the recent meeting of the Good Cheer Class of the East Main Street Congregational Church. A potluck dinner was served prior to the meeting at the church.

At the business meeting plans were made for an all-day sewing at the church March 4. Six guests were present for the affair. J. Bradley Chandler who will speak on the preparation for school and problems and attitudes of school age children. Mrs. Chandler is a first grade teacher at L. T.

Stone School. The circle will meet Thursday evening at 8 o'clock in the home of Mrs. Norman Weaver, 914 Brown Ave. Hostesses will be Mrs. William Kneebone, Mrs.

Burton Logue and Mrs. Joe Shrader. Devotions will be given by Mrs. Harold Icenogle. To keep lettuce leaves from turning brown, wrap the head in a paper towel before putting It In the crisping pan of the refrigerator.

Plans Yearly Project Various plans for the ensuing year were made by members of thd Grandmother's Circle of the Trinity Lutheran Church at the recent afternoon meeting neld in the Martha room of the church. Mrs. VI Craig, chairman, presided at the business meeting. Devotions were given by MM. Delphia Malcolm.

During the social hour refreshments were served from a table attractively decorated in Valentine motif with Mrs. N. G. Netsell and Mrs. Judith Johnson presiding.

Hostesses for the afternoon were Mrs. Craig, Mrs. Martin Nelson, Mrs. G. E.
