foryovrihouqhty Dear Penny, I'm putting my two cents' worth in for Mixed Up In the June 27 column. I had the tame problem 12 yean ago. My daughter wai IS old when we were married and was legally adopted at the age of two by her father, whom 1 married, My In-laws said a hurried marriage Is no good for young people or the child since It could end up In bitter I divorce. My husband and loved each other enough, and we did i wait. My in-laws and I get along better now than what we would have otherwise, and there is no bitterness between us.

I have been happily married now for years, and wc have three more dnuRhtcrs. You can take enre of a baby without a father I went through it. The hardest part is facing facts. Experienced Dear Experienced, Thank you for sharing that experience with us. It might give courage to someone else to make a success of what now seems like a hopelessly muddled life.

Dear Penny, We would like to know when Debbie Klapp Is going for her transplant. There is another patient from this vicinity going for a transplant soon. Will that person receive financial aid from the fund? What are the terms of the fund? What is the total amount In the fund? Concerned Contributors Dear Contributors, As of a month ago, Debbie and her family were awaiting word from either a Chicago or a Minneapolis hospital that the time was right for the transplant. Her mother assured a reporter that Galesburg area residents who were so generous in contributing to the Debbie Klapp Fund would know when Debbie was scheduled for the surgery. The Debbie Klapp Fund is held in trust at a local bank.

The trust agreement was drawn by a local attorney who dbnated his service, and three local residents were designated trustees to oversee the fund. The fund totaled out at around $25,000. Terms of the fund call for the money to be applied first to Debbie's medical expenses which are not covered by to expenses incurred by her parents in traveling with Debbie during her hospital stays; her education, and finally to other patients with kidney ailments when Debbie is well and no longer in need of the fund. Dear Penny, My family is fairly new in Galesburg, and I would like to say that I have never seen such rude, inconsiderate people anywhere else as I have drivers and pedestrians. It has always been my understanding that when a sign said, "Don 't wa'k" it meant just that.

Obviously that doesn't apply to Galesburg. I see countless numbers of people cross the street against the wall; sign every day. I was downtown last Saturday morning trying to make a right turn when a woman and her small daughter darted out in front of my car against the walk light. I had to make a sudden stop to avoid hitting them. It Is most disgusting to have this happen, especially since this is the only time for making right turns.

What I really can't stand is why the signals were Installed only to be Ignored and violated. How are children to learn rules and regulations if their parents are teaching them the opposite? Irate Citizen Dear Irate, I agree with you that the signs are there for the safety of pedestrians and the smooth flow of traffic and should be obeyed. However, I do not agree with you that Galesburg Is such a bad place to be, and I hope you'll come to agree when you've been here a little longer. Naturally, almost the entire population strives to become circus performers. But at age 14 each boy must serve in the post office, town hall or other service department of the community.

When a boy turns IS he must go out on his own. There are no adults to supervise their activities except in the training of uircus acts. "Our problems are logistical and financial," said Clark. "We have to bring all the boys over here, provide shelter and food for them during their slay in this cour.try." "What we'd like to do," Hamel put In, "is introduce the circus as a network television special." "Then," said Clark, "people would know what it was all about. We could play the circus in various arenas around the country.

But there's no way this circus wili be seen on the (tube or in the flesh before next year."
