E. Paul of Reading. According to the arrangements and in The ambulance, recently purchased by the Altamont Fire Company at Frackville will soon go into service. This announcement was made to-, day by Frank Fifher, chairman of the Ambulance Corps. The Community Ambulance will be offered without charge apd will be available 24 hours a day.

This free service, Mr. Fisher axplained, is to and from regional hospitals. The LaSalle machine, fully equipped, was financed without any public subscription. The money was realized through the concerted efforts of the Altamont firemen. On a number of occasions recently the new apparatus appeared in public but has not as yet been put into service.

It was in the line of march at Shenandoah Heights during the dedication program' conducted there recently. Before going into actual service the mechanism of the machine is being thoroughly checked. A system of making calls for the use of the ambulance will be announced prior to the establishment of the service. Firemen have received many messages of congratulations from residents--of the Altamont section of Frackville for their evident interest in the welfare of the people. The "machine of mercy" will be housed in the fire company buildinj and a qualified driver will be on in the picture, three solos by Miss Durbin and one by Haymes.

Among the songs are "Oh Say' Can You See What i' "When She Walks in the Room" and "Carousel in the Park." Ail lyrics are by Dorothy Fields, with music by Sigmund Romberg.
