Episcopal Visitation. The Ki 'ht Rev. i W. Bacon Stevens, Assistant Bishop of the l.msecpai Church in Pennsylvania, will visit the parish of. Christ Church of this city to morrow, ifcundsy) for the pui r.oso of ndoxnis tery the rite of confirmation, and will preach at toe tree Church of St.

Services commencing at 3 1 pThe Dr. Schsf of Morcersbnrg, trill preaoh Sunday morning and evening in the Fir3t 'German Reformed Church in German in the morning, and in English in tha Killed on the JJawe, Road. We understand that a Panorama represen ting all the principal scones of the present war will be opened at Oja iellows' Hall on lufesday evening nest. Tho scenes numbering some fifty are said to be of great artistic merit, being taken from sketches oa the spot and painted by eminent N. Y.

artists. The scenes will be accurately da fcribed aril interspersed with patriotic songs by LlrG eo, Henry Kussell. lurthcr particulars and programmes will shortly bo issued. Bravery op our Teoops. To read the New York and Philadelphia papers, one would naturally conclude that all the soldiers were furnished by those cities, and that all acts of daring were performed by inen furnished by them.

This fs all owing to the fact that the correspondents of their papers gwarm over the fields of battle, whose duty it is to ten nothing bat what relates to the men who como from their own siiotious. Thus it hap pens that man receive credit lor deeds performed by others, and that men are accused of skedaddling, who nevor moved a foot for any other purpose than to advance. For instance', a correspondent of the Philadelphia states, that the 11th Pennsylvania militia skedaddled Tin really is th'U the 11th occupied a plaoe in the first lino of battle, while their detractor was probably in the rear Another fact worthy of notice is t'ut the Colonel of the 11th is a truo and tried I eoldier ono who has seen service under a fiht ing General, and who probably knows as inuob about war as any Brigadier in the army. ruuohfjr the militia. Lieut.

F. L. Shatters, a brave soldier by actual trial oa the battle field gives us some instances of bravery exhibited by Reading boys, which the bare mention of their names will stamp with an air of truth: lie mentions Pearson Miller, son cf our Chief of Police, as a brave la 1, who disdained dodging or hiding and who, at the second battle of Bull Ran would fitand boldly up to his work, and do his duty like a man. Jonathan Flack, he pronounce as brave as the world evar saw, while orderly sergeant Hnry Quimby, after being shot through the thigh, picked up a wounded comrade Joseph My erg, put him ou bis broad and powerful back, and carried him outside the lines be bad hardly performed this duty, his wound running blood the while, before he met another comrade, Wm. Krick, f.hot through both legs and in the body.

This poor fellow tho orderly carried one mile and a balf to a place of safety, holding his wound with one band to stop the bloeding. Such men are surely entitled to the medals prepared as a mark of honor by the Government, and the sooner they are distributed the better. Those are only a few of the mstanees on reoord, but we do not tbitk that our men would like to be brought before the public on every occasion. The Philadelphia and New York papers, being large concerns, must be iilled up, hence the twaddle that appears in their columns. Tns Postal CfRKEScr.

Groat complaints are being mado of tbe slowness with which the new postal ourroacy is being issued by tho Treasury Department. It is oDly getting by driblets into circulation, and has done but little as yet to re K.n. A JbTSINESS MAN. Messiis Editors In our communication of the 2ith we have made a mistake unintentional in saying that tbe C.ninty Committee bd 250 dollars in the treasury ltsl: ul have been the City Ojmiuitteo (eacuAs us irentlemcn) who hve ben dischsrged by the grand Mogul of IWding, and we are under lasting obligations to tho. treasurer of that Committee for the sua of 25 dollars Tours truly V. Several of our surgeons were on the "spot ready to offer their services. Some of the wounds etc serious, but most of them, we are happy to say, are of a sl'ghter character. Lieut. Ilagenman, owing to the painful character of his wound, was left in Ilarisburg, that he might receive prompt medical aid.

trust he may soon recover sufficiently to allow of his removal to his home. The rest of the severely wounded were taken to the Fair firound Hospital. This is a sad reception for a set of men who went forth to battle in tbe highest spirits, aud with the greatest eageruef a. Had they met with their loss In gloom that enshrouds our city would bo relieved by a ray of satisfaction that they had died gloriously in the defence of their country, but nndcr the circumstances we have nothing but sorrow and regret.
