The "girl meets a strangely assorted group of persons, most of whom knew the missing woman, but none of them were able to throw any light on her disappearance.

Her determined efforts to solve the puzzle finally lead her to the discovery that a strange cult of devil-worshipers, which her sister had joined and betrayed, has ordered her to kill herself. Trying to avoid this doom, the frightened woman is finally located, but is spirited away again by her persecutors. The climax brings the strange story to a dramatic end.
