Stuart, shown here following the recent Riverside Concert Band performance at Grayson Elementary, travels to Alexandria for weekly lessons with ten other members of the Cen-La Shrine Club Band. The group, which is being formed to play at special events In the future, will soon be ordering authentic kilts for their performances. Stuart credits his Scottish bloodline with his interest In the bagpipes. "People either love them or hate them. I've always loved them," he says. The group is looking forward to Its first public appearance in December, and, if Columbia Main Street and Caldwell Chamber of Commerce officials have their way, the annual Caldwell Country Christmas Parade will be among their premiere performances. I am so thankful for the good things that I have, Thank the Good Lord. Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Young, Sr. and boys attended Vene's Reunion Sunday in Winnsboro Sunday. I saw Mrs. Frances Walker in Dr. Cummings office the other day. She went and visited her sister, Mrs. Lora Ann May in Grayson. Happy Birthday to Mrs. Ruby Patterson who celebrates a Birthday this month. Happy Birthday wishes to Mrs. Eva Washer who celebrates a Birthday on June 12th. Sorry to see Mrs. Judy Johnson had to be put back in the hospital in North Monroe. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Sweet and Nick Proffer called me Tuesday afternoon. I received a letter from Mrs. Leslie Goldrick out in California and she said she would celebrate a Birthday June 28th. Happy Birthday wishes goes out to her. She is a sister of Mrs. Donnie Carter who lives in Clarks. Mr. Arthur Johnson, son of Mrs. Clarice Holman celebrated a birthday recently. Mrs. Barbara S. Smith and son Charles visited in Thibodeaux and Morgan City. Mrs. Smith attended the Graduation of her daughter Mrs. Barbara Ann Watts. She graduated with the highest honors in accounting. They also visited Mrs. Mike Nelson and family. Barbara and husband David Watts moved to Morgan City, while they were there. Mrs. Watts is a granddaughter of Mrs. Audie Mae Wise. ( 1 -1 h Kristen Sienna Carter of Clarks and Tony Jay Gore are pleased to announce their engagement and approaching marriage. Kristen is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. G. "Buddy" Carter of Clarks Tony is the son of Jay Gore of Columbia and Lisa Conner of Puxico, Mo. The couple will exchange vows on June 18th at 7 p.m. in Clarks Baptist Church, with Rev. Bob Boyt officiating. A reception is to follow at the Clarks Community Center. Family and friends are asked to accept this announcement as their invitation to the ceremony.
